Get the CWU and the 'Enough is Enough' campaign behind this....

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-62656500

Calling for the minimum wage to be raised to £15 an hour. It's about time. Wages have barely moved in 20 years, whereas house prices and rental costs have skyrocketed.

Royal Mail don't even want to pay us £13 an hour. Would be great if the government was pressured into increasing the minimum wage to £15.

The longer it takes to resolve all these pay disputes around the country - the further inflation goes up and the more riled up the working population gets. Workers and Unions will soon want wages to match an 18% increase in inflation which is expected by some banks sometime next year. The government and these businesses should have made deals months ago, but now it's likely they will be pressured to pay more out the deeper we get into this cost of living crisis.

LET'S GET THE MINIMUM WAGE TO £15 AN HOUR! - How do you like them apples, Simon?

Team - morning all - we wrote to the CWU again last Friday - offering a meeting for anytime this week - we did have contact yesterday - but it doesn’t look like they want to meet - we will try again today - it is really important we explain the market reality + our £financial position - it is important we all see the same thing - the current story that we have ‘pockets full of cash’ or this is ‘just a phase’ is unfortunately, not true….

Jesus christ Si. You just don't get it you?

Posties and their Union are perfectly aware that the business needs to change to ensure our future.

That's NOT what you've proposed. You want to destroy our working conditions, pay a pittance, and have asked us to shove a broom up our arses and sweep the floor while we're at it.

You gargantuan bellend.

Dear Simon,
How about you and me meet in a boozer of your choosing and I explain my household reality + my £financial position. Thought not.

Why didn't you have this chat with the shareholders earlier this year? Rather than give them 400million. Why also didn't you have this chat with the board when they awarded you £140,000 bonus.

In any business the workforce is the most important asset.

A lot of us worked our a$$e$ off during the pandemic delivering double mail, packets and Covid kits which resulted in the company making millions in profits. Most of those profits went to shareholders, prestigious jobs for the boys on the Royal Mail board and the CEOs bonus.

Now theres nothing left in the pot for us
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

If we are really losing £1million a day like we have been for the past 20 years..... then how did you manage to give £400million to shareholders?

Your maths - is off - as well as - your ability - to write the English language.

If we were actually losing £1million a day it doesn't say much about your management of the company.

How about how worried we all were during the pandemic delivering your Mail/ packets Si, not knowing how it would affect us, whether it could kill us, whether we would pass it on to our family and friends whilst you all sat at home safe in the knowledge you would be ok whilst we raked in the profits for you………… nice way to pay us back thanks a lot, you down give a flying feck about any of us…..

I assure you the only corporate parasite that considers the workforce an asset rather than a liability is a football club boss.

Cod, lets invite them to get involved with joined up thinking across all Unions, or will this already be "wheels in motion" ?

The current General Secretary is Frances O'Grady.

Well I eventually sent it, the quoted email address didn't work so I hunted about until I found one that did, wasn't directly to Frances O'Grady, but in the reply the person wished us well with our strike and said they'd make sure it was passed up the food chain

So are the cwu and Royal Mail in talks or are there any scheduled talks for later on in the week?

The lack of information is very worrying and paints a bleak picture for our struggle and before anyone starts to question my resolve im in this for the long haul as we have no other choice.
