I think it's only a matter of time before they take over the Tracked or at least the large Trackednightcrawler wrote: ↑21 Aug 2022, 19:29So we will still be doing tracked parcels then? I’d say tracks account for around 70-80% of our parcels so won’t affect us that much.

I heard that large parcels will be removed from DOs after bank holiday as emergency strike plans to minimise effect. Large parcels would be sent out to LAT offices where they have agency workers stationed and large amount of hire vans. This seems to have been plan for weeks and will be coming into effect next week. Also it advances Royal Mails strategy to make sure parcel hubs are ready for October when they officially want to roll out parcel hub proposals.
DOs losing large parcels will be tasked to streamline performance, increase productivity and in effect lapse more duties.
Everyone knows it will end in a s**t show as Royal Mail can hardly run a bath.

So if you work in a parcel hub/LAT DO you will be overworked & extremely busy....if you work at a smaller DO.... start worrying?

It wouldn’t surprise me if Minibuses start turning up at MC’s to bus all the jobless staffers over to the nearest “parcel hub”1560loopsayear wrote: ↑21 Aug 2022, 23:31So if you work in a parcel hub/LAT DO you will be overworked & extremely busy....if you work at a smaller DO.... start worrying?
If the work is moving they are going to try moving workers with it……..
What is the deal on being sent to another site 14 days notice isnt it?

Our driver who does large parcels has been told from tomorrow to go onto a walk as large parcels are being done by larger hub, he now has to do a walk instead and we are now lapsing another walk which is probably largest in office, I don’t know what’s going on but it seems like more work constantly and can see utter chaos coming up when we are all cutting off

Presumably the parcels won't be checked for redirections, I know it's rare but It does happen, we've had it crop up at Xmas when the large ones have been sent straight out the door without going to the duty first.

So are they making each walk take out all the Tracked for the walk, no matter how big or heavy the items are?matthew68 wrote: ↑22 Aug 2022, 12:54Our driver who does large parcels has been told from tomorrow to go onto a walk as large parcels are being done by larger hub, he now has to do a walk instead and we are now lapsing another walk which is probably largest in office, I don’t know what’s going on but it seems like more work constantly and can see utter chaos coming up when we are all cutting off

That's kind of how it's worked in most offices for 12 years since shared vans came in.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑22 Aug 2022, 13:08So are they making each walk take out all the Tracked for the walk, no matter how big or heavy the items are?matthew68 wrote: ↑22 Aug 2022, 12:54Our driver who does large parcels has been told from tomorrow to go onto a walk as large parcels are being done by larger hub, he now has to do a walk instead and we are now lapsing another walk which is probably largest in office, I don’t know what’s going on but it seems like more work constantly and can see utter chaos coming up when we are all cutting off

Who is manning these parcel “superhubs”? Surely they will be on strike too?
