Are there any talks scheduled?

Our first days strike is Friday. Is RM even talking to the union?

If there are any talks it will go like this, Tea? Coffee? Biscuits? Right, I'm Simon, we need to change, this is what we are doing, oh, and it's starting next week. Shall we schedule the next talks for a fortnight as I am busy doing photo ops for workplace? Cheerio

Lock all the relevant important people in a room until its sorted out, otherwise this will just keep on rumbling on for months.

Try to agree on a small point then build upwards from there ?

Its what i would do.

Does anyone else think Royal Mail don't want to settle this dispute and are looking for a long drawn out battle?

i think this has been their agenda for a long time, ruin the parts of the company they no longer want and blame the workforce/CWU for it no longer being viable

They could easily just turn the 2% offered as a bonus into a pay rise and then settle the pay dispute?

I'm not sure articles like this are doing RM any favours:

I personally don't think royal mail care if we strike or not but...that's risky or stupid or who knows to be honest.

I think any relationship between CWU and RM is now totally trashed forever, which is probably what they wanted.

This is about trashing the union, its a show for the shareholders, " see there's no union now we can do as we like, zero hour contracts banking hours, do away with allowances, whatever we want there's no one to stop us",

there's no talks, there's no sitting round a table to discuss anything, everyone of us has a simple question to answer, do you want a union or not and if you do you'd better be prepared for the long haul, I am
