Hi
Accident while on duty. Would this warrant full 12 months pay due to the accident was at work?
I understand the sick pay, with 6 months full 6 months half. I’m asking because the accident didn’t happen in leisure time.

My guess it depends if anyone was to blame?
If so then you need contact the Union who will handle your claim for loss of earnings or a solicitor.

AOD's are a full 12 months with pay minus any other days you have had in a 4 year period.
Be careful of the blame game.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Be careful with any interviews.had a genuine accident a couple of years ago first since a dog attack about 20 years ago.hospital said no work for 2 weeks. i was treated like a war criminal management coming round my house and threatening to stop pay.i could hardly walk and it was in the middle of the pandemic.on return to work interview it was clear that the managers would twist anything I said such was their determination to make it my fault so I couldn't report the incident as an industrial injury.even tried to conduct code me for not paying attention but the Union laughed this out of the room.incidentally there was an identical accident at the same house 2 years previously but the managers reported wrongly in the walk log.useless as well as malicious

RM have a duty of care towards its employees but in practice tend to fail miserably.
How many walk logs are available to view on each delivery frame and are staff reminded of checking them daily?
Are agency staff been made aware of dangerous hazzards?
I think you know the answer.

Report the accident DWP once it's deemed an industrial accident 12 months full pay and then 6 months half pay as per national agreement

You really do have to be a special kind of scumbag to be a royal mail manager.Gary55 wrote: ↑17 Aug 2022, 22:12Be careful with any interviews.had a genuine accident a couple of years ago first since a dog attack about 20 years ago.hospital said no work for 2 weeks. i was treated like a war criminal management coming round my house and threatening to stop pay.i could hardly walk and it was in the middle of the pandemic.on return to work interview it was clear that the managers would twist anything I said such was their determination to make it my fault so I couldn't report the incident as an industrial injury.even tried to conduct code me for not paying attention but the Union laughed this out of the room.incidentally there was an identical accident at the same house 2 years previously but the managers reported wrongly in the walk log.useless as well as malicious
