The changes we need in Parcelforce
We know many of you have questions about the change we need to transform our business and we are now able to start sharing the detail with you.
The need for change is very clear. Royal Mail overall is losing £1m a day. This trend is also true for Parcelforce. We are losing money, depot productivity is deteriorating and our parcel volumes are back to pre-pandemic levels.
Our profitability has been on a steady decline over the past 10 years – which is not a sustainable situation for any business. If that trend were to continue, we could make no profit.
We're exploring a number of initiatives that would change the way we work and enable us to develop a plan to improve our profitability.
A factsheet on each of the initiatives can be found by clicking here....

I must stress that the threat of industrial action on Parcelforce impacts our future sustainability. For as long as the threat of strike action is present, our customers will be exploring their alternatives. Our competitors have capacity due to the current economic climate; once they have their foot in the door it will be immensely difficult to regain whatever we lose.
As our discussions with the CWU progress and we refine our proposals, we’ll post updates into this group and you can use #PFWchangeweneed to post your questions.
We’ll monitor them regularly and answer the most commonly asked, covering the key themes people are most interested or concerned about. Also, look out for briefings from your managers who will be out and about to talk through the proposed changes where you work.
Scroll through our seven factsheets here, for more details.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
