And also does the extract from 'he who shall not be named' state we have to wait for the item to be made up
or we make it up? Without seeing the full extract might it just be we deliver a flattened box and label one day
and then the next day we pick it up?

This is what I was thinking surely we can't be expected to pack parcels especially items that are fragile or awkward shapes.
Recently had to return our dyson for repair. They sent a DPD driver with a plastic crate, he packed it, photos at various stages, scanning paperwork, attaching security tags etc, explained what happened next, handed over a copy of the collection paperwork and he did it all on the doorstep and it all took a good 10 minutes.

It'll be that, surely. Which, shockingly, is actually not a bad wheeze. I guess even Simon can regurgitate a decent idea once every so often.

Delivery first time every time is Simon's motto, so surely collection 1st time every time will be Simon's plan for this brainfart that he's had. We can't be doing 2 trips to a house on 2 consecutive days. And think of the poor person expecting their eBay parcel and we're causing a wilful 24 hour delay......

Personally, I can't wait to be handed a crystal chandelier to box up with all 200 delicate pendants to be individually wrapped in royal fails finest bubble wrap which has been taking up 75% of the space in my HVT all day, along with rolls of parcel tape, flapack boxes and and a sticky label with probably the incorrect postage paid.

They can't even get what we do now right, i had another 2 today, 1 where a woman was adamant that i take her parcel (it wasn't on the manifest) And another that was scheduled, but there was no parcel to collect.

The customer packs the item, fixes the sticker to the box then we collect later in the day or next day! Can't see us having to physically pack the item their and then! As highlighted compo claims would be through the roof

This is the only way it'd work. Simon has some ludicrous ideas, no doubt (or other people have them for him), but his comment doesn't mention us packing and I think some people are, on this occasion, grabbing the wrong end of the wrong stick.
