Yes if you have a Duty if not managers will change your day of rest so they can manage the situation if on leave you will get paid and long-term sickness just phoning up on the day is unlikely to work to keep pay. Me looking forward to show RM how much my work will be missed and losing a days pay or two or three four or more to see the smite on the facelass fools who show themselves in shadowy pixelated porn shots telling us we are wrong while they are morally corrupt!

Wasn't so long ago that those on pre-booked A/L , long-term sick or regular off-day would donate a day's pay to the branch hardship fund...

Still happens.
Not as often as it did though.
It's pretty much expected of reps.
I'm on holiday for one of them.

I'm fairly sure that if you happen to fall on a "day off" or "annual leave" across these four dates, when the next block of three or four strike dates are announced the chances are that you won't be.

Managers will be quick on the rostas now shafting the reserves/newly started who don't have a duty & rotating day off... making sure that their day off will be on the announced strike days.

Exactly, for the first time, I can tell what days off I'll have with a decent amount of time to plan stuff... :arrrghhh At least I can still pop down and show my support.

Luckily only 2 of my office are up for striking, the rest have said they are going to carry on as normal.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Unless your office is one of the 350 parcel hubs the gates won't even be open. If you want to work you'll have to come to one of the big nasty hub offices.....good luck with that
