At the moment they are not talking about negotiation just imposition they do this tactic every so often but a few strikes and they change their tune, Nothing ever has been won without sacrifice and short term pain but I am damned that some Investment banker will tell me what to do and when and f**k my life up so he can enrich himself off the spoils of my labour!

As far as I see it.its not about mail not going out etc it's trying to wreck the share price enough that Thompson has to make a deal before the shareholders loose there sh@t and he looses the job.

Well let's hope most of them bought them at that price and they loose a fortune.

Now, whole walks just sit undelivered, odd undelivered letters laying around on delivery frames for days, it is a shocking indictment on management.
It's what the end of the universal service looks like. It's just not official yet.

I believe this time we really are looking at the destruction of the job. It's not just chipping away with a bit of 'modernisation' here and there - they want to turn RM into something else completely, and we must resist. We won't be going back to the golden age, though. At best we can return to the status quo of 2019/2020 until the shareholders are baying at the door again in a few years.
The machine stops.

To me it is a shocking indictment on the postmen/woman who rush off home way before finish time without a thought about all the unfinished work
they are paid to do. A few years ago we all would have taken an extra loop and put the door to doors in to clear an absent frame, not worked to our time every day but now it's out on delivery before 9am with a fair few back and of home from 12am to 1pm but paid to 2 30pm. Things changed during Covid when we were trying to distance ourselves.
If everyone pulled together and each did a little we could have a decent job. I also notice the people with the easy jobs are in general the ones who are most vocal about how they are being shafted. I know this does not apply to every office but people need to get real and do a days work for what is a decent days pay.

He's a manager. For his benefit this is the real world. I came back from a week off to find none of the mail - except for tracked /signed for had been taken out. I think the worst thing was seeing the letters from the NHS which were obviously appointment letters. Some were for children's appointments. When I took it out I told anybody who asked what was going on. I gave them my manager's number and told them to go to the delivery office and demand their mail if necessary. Nobody and I mean nobody blamed the posties.

Well we certainly know what will happen if we don't strike.
