Like turkey farmers the bulk of our annual revenue and therefore profit is loaded onto the second half of the tax year so while it's not technically a lie to say we've lost £1 million a day in that period it is a false narrative to pretend that this is an accurate picture of the ongoing financial health of the company.
I don't disagree.
But it is a lie to say we didn't lose £1million pound a day in that period, we just made £1million pound a day less than last year.
That is a false narrative.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

We had 2 of these agency staff in yesterday, they spent some time talking to our workplace coach, given a PDA each & sent out together in a Royal Mail van with loads of oversized parcels.

It never fails to amaze as to how agency peeps can just walk in and drive off in an RM van but an employee isn't allowed to drive one until they've done an assessment with an EXTERNAL instructor :cuppa

But last years figures are totally false as everyone was sat at home ordering online as the high street was shop .

Compare to pre covid figures where people had the choice of on line or walking into a shop and buying something .

Unbelievable really isn’t it. They would probably deliver about 1/10th the amount of parcels that a fully trained employee with local knowledge and experience could do in the same timeframe. save a penny to spend a pound, as they say.

Down to insurance and liability, I was told. Agency staff are covered by agency insurance. And RM excess is 5k.

But we won't be delivering anything if we strike the agency staff will be regardless of the speed they are working at.

My office have started some casuals this week, also RCS has now got a new code to cover IA casuals, I thought it was illegal to cover jobs with agency staff if industrial action happened. Surely pre empting that with an RCS pay code shows their intentions and obviously starting them before any industrial action seems to be their get out clause.

my office is a complete shambles.posties walking in to bags of undelivered mail on a daily basis that need reprepping,no staff, new entrants lasting a few days before jacking it in.the whole service is broken with no one giving two sh***s anymore.used to half enjoy the job but hate it now and thats before all these proposed changes
