Royal Mail Group moving import volumes to Evri (Hermes!)

Post by PostalWorker13 »

Royal Mail Group has decided to give imported volumes in to the UK to one of its main competitors. Instead of Parcelforce, imported items will now go through Evri for the foreseeable future.

Claiming to be skint and unable to give a decent pay rise whilst giving away work and profit to the competition.

This has got to be an all time low… :arrrghhh :cuppa

Wow…they’re really digging their heels in aren’t they. Looks like we’re in for a long fight. Stand together and they won’t break us!

There's going to be battle after battle in the next year. Can't see it ending well.

Happy to give work to a competitor but unwilling to reward their own workers. Sums RM up...

Part of the plan of splitting the company and driving the core letter deliveries to the wall. At the same playing poverty card not to award us anything as the less the pay us the bigger the profits. Workforce bills accounts up to 70% of the total costs for the company, so I can understand why they fight tooth and nail not to award us anything. This decision though is difficult to explain, must be an introduction to the recently announced split of GLS and Royal Mail otherwise, what else it could be? Maybe it is anti industrial action protection so whatever happens here will not affect GLS as it is their jewel in the crown and for royal mail they couldn't care less. Any thoughts?
