Re: Unagreed Revsisions?
Why wont the union announce dates for the first ballot . Terry and Dave are praying Royal mail counter with a better offer . So they dont actually have to do their jobs and arrange strike dates. The union is constantly out manouvered by royal mail. This s t is getting embarrassingSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑03 Aug 2022, 20:18Their hands are tied as the first ballot was about pay alone. Re: Unagreed Revsisions?
They probably don't to take any risks of announcing strike dates based on the first ballot compromising the second ballot in any way that RM could use to get it thrown outdarkgable wrote: ↑03 Aug 2022, 20:38Why wont the union announce dates for the first ballot . Give notice for industrial action tomorrow morning. No more mucking about. Royal Mail are in full flow and are starting to implement the changes as they see fit. I honestly think it’s too late now anyway and we have all lost big time but it’s the only slight chance we have left.

Re: Unagreed Revsisions?
This has gone way beyond pay and even way beyond the changes they have proposed.
It appears Simon has decided to go all in without any attempt to negotiate an agreement and change the business in any way he sees fit.
It looks very like we're going to be fighting for everything.
Not just pay or change but your basic terms and conditions, even your contract itself.
s**t or bust?
Him or us?
Endgame...

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Lets just hope we don't have 1 day strike here and 1 day there ,it will have no effect,we need to hit them hard from the start, get a long backlog going and then go to 1 day here and there, and please please cwu members do not do overtime to clear it or what really is the point you might as well bend over and let them take your dignity.

Re: Unagreed Revsisions?
Totally agree with Woody, Thompson and McPherson have decided to bet everything on breaking the CWU and ripping to pieces all the national agreements that we have.
It’s a fight to the finish, either then win and everything changes to our detriment or we win and these individuals will be forced out.
My own personal opinion is that if they get their way we will become part of the gig economy, this is no longer about change’s to the pipeline or parcel hubs or any other operational issues, this is about removing employees rights by way of destroying our only form of protection - the CWU.
Time to stand up and fight. Nothing to lose but everything to gain

Surely the union has to give a minimum of 14 days notice - not exactly 14 days. Just announce the strike weeks now.

Re: Unagreed Revsisions?
The union cannot react as quickly as Royal Mail. Why FFS?
Despite what it looks like sometimes It's not a business with a couple of guys at the top making all the decisions.
There has to be a meeting of the PEC.
There has to be an endorsement of the decision.

Re: Unagreed Revsisions?
All the union reps can do right now is put in a disagreement before royal mail implement changes across the board.
Nothing has been agreed at a national level and by the sounds of everything that's been going behind closed doors they want change fast. Yes some things need to change but at the speed that everything is going we either need an agreement that suits both us and them or all I can see is weeks even months leading up to xmas of strikes.
Things are not looking pretty, as it was announced last week my office wants a revision done by the end of September. Everyone needs to stand there ground and not do overtime, just work to rule.
