Executive Action :Revisions and Parcel Hubs "Emergency Response"
Dear All,
The below is to confirm the content of our discussion regarding the ‘emergency response’.
Over the last three months we have been losing £1 million a day. Costs in offices have not reduced quickly enough to match volume decline and we urgently need to respond.
We are therefore proceeding with an ‘emergency response’ revision programme. Our plan is to deploy 556 table-top revisions and 50 structural revisions. The table-top revisions will be completed by October and the Structural revisions in quarter 4 of this financial year.
We have also made changes to the revision processes to simplify them to enable us to do them more quickly.
We have previously communicated that we will be proceeding with our plans to implement 346 Parcel Depots. We will therefore be deploying Dedicated Parcel Routes into the units that have been identified as depots as part of the revision process.
We will also be deploying our first ‘Satellites’ into Depot changes in October. This means that large parcels removed from in scope routes from the Satellites will be delivered via the depot. The first units that will have their Satellites consolidated are Leighton Buzzard, Manchester North and Barnet.
This emergency response is critical to the continued success of Royal Mail and we would therefore ask that you support these proposals.
Thanks
Shaun

When he says " the content of our discussion" who has been discussing it?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

So what have the units that arent having any oversized got to have a revision for?

Didn't we agree that as part of the (much lauded at the time) Pathway to Change Agreement that every unit would have a structured revision over the course of the 3 years?2yearpostie wrote: ↑03 Aug 2022, 16:06So what have the units that aren't having any oversized got to have a revision for?
And everyone would have 2 table top revisions as well?
Didn't we also agree that the main driver for those revisions would be increases in efficiency?

Looking around my office, Simon & his crew can do what they like, the workforce’s given up, no ones bothered, dressing rooms been lost, beaten with a shitty stick, lifes far to short to bother yourselves with all this shite, mass exodus on the way.

This is more Executive Action. They're trying to undermine the Union. We can't be going along with this.

Whats the difference between a table top revision and a structural one?, im guessing the table top is just adding delivery points onto walks without a repick, and the structural one is as major revision, repick ect?.

Re: Executive Action :Revisions and Parcel Hubs "Emergency Response"
With the dedicated parcels plans going full steam ahead the revisions within DOs will mean more work added to duties.
Two years ago Royal Mails official plan for for every six duties to be collapsed into five. Thus increasing walking and workload. This is ‘justified’ as large parcels will be taken out of offices so more time will be available
Royal Mail want these revisions to move at pace, and to be ready to go live by late September.
These revisions are also to be aligned to later start time proposals which has to be stopped.
There will be little or no Union involvement in revisions.
Yet more executive action from the board.

In a table top revision the rep and manager f**k the office up on their own.
In a structural revision a planner is brought in to help f**k the office up even more.
