Re: Strong rumour 22,000 agency incoming.
rumor says they wont be going out on walks because they will "walk" out - too hard apparently.
They will probably be clearing parcels/LATS and during strikes just tracked.

This job is so s**t now, management are going to have their work cut out hiring that many, and an even harder job retaining them.

Genuine question.
If the job is that s**t now and youve all noticed there are other places to work, why do you stay?

It might be a genuine question but not a very original one.2yearpostie wrote: ↑31 Jul 2022, 14:09Genuine question.

To be honest I don't think you're that interested in the answers anyway, you're just trying to make a silly point.
There are hundreds of reasons to stay and hundreds of reasons to go, on any given day you wake up and subconsciously make the calculation in your head before you drag yourself out of bed.
Leaving anything is always harder than staying so staying always has a head start.
That's how it is in every job.

Im intrested in why someone would constantly complain the job was bad but still continue to do it for years on end when there are other options.Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑31 Jul 2022, 14:33It might be a genuine question but not a very original one.2yearpostie wrote: ↑31 Jul 2022, 14:09Genuine question.

I'm sort of comfortable although it appears to be about to get worse at a quicker rate than the last 10 years since privatisation, pro's for me and nearly half the office is working in the town we live so minimal commuting, myself and most of the "longer serving" staff are knocking on a bit now and would really prefer to stay to the end rather than trying to retrain when we're pushing late 50's/60 years old. I've got just under 20 years service so I'm not the old guard by any means but when I started after previously having several jobs I genuinely saw this as a job for the rest of my working life.2yearpostie wrote: ↑31 Jul 2022, 14:09Genuine question.

Maybe waiting for the right opportunity. It is one thing going for a job when you don't have one, and another thing altogether when you are resigning from something you know and starting somewhere else.
I have done over 9 years and the last 2 or 3 years thing have gone a lot worse, it has taken to the last couple of weeks to get intolerable for me and at the same time another job come up for me to go for. Once the balance was tipped to totally wanting out, it was an easy decision.

Just out of interest what have you gone for and how did it turn up, was it advertised or word of mouth from a mate etc?fb1969 wrote: ↑31 Jul 2022, 14:47Maybe waiting for the right opportunity. You might as well ask 90% of the working population over 35 the same question.Im intrested in why someone would constantly complain the job was bad but still continue to do it for years on end when there are other options.
We have kids, mortgages/rent,car loans etc.

Get as many agency workers as you can into the offices to deliver parcels BUT who is going to sort these parcels for them if everyone is on strike?
Another great thought out idea from the top table. Bravo.
