Yes, but looks like most would come from the main hub, so outsourcing would mean youd do maybe 1 or 2 a year.

Not necessarily, you could be sent to any hub within a reasonable distance.
There are 4 within 10 miles of me in all directions.

In my opinion compulsory sundays is likely to be one of the first things Royal Mail concedes during the negotiations.

It's legally dubious anyway, there are many genuine reasons staff could legitimately opt out and looking at their numbers I'm not even convinced it's necessary. Our office could probably cover those numbers with volunteers and new starts recruited to work sunday.

I think what they really want is to remove Sunday premium rate, they would probably trade the compulsory part for that.

Just an opinion though.

Yeah definitely after reading that I would say even they aren't convinced any of it has legs.

I reckon annualised hours will be first to go. It's obviously such a push designed to provoke. Unworkable anyway with an increasingly casualised workforce. There'll probably be some messy fudge with slightly different duty patterns for summer and winter, but that's about it.

Then Sunday working will go. Largely unecessary like you say.

Sadly I too think the later start times will come in. They don't care about when/if letters get to the recipient,
as long as the multi million parcel contract customers are happy and their customers can get the latest
throw away fashion the next day. And after spending mega millions on the parcel sorting hubs they're going to make
sure to utilise their functionality within the pipeline to the max.

It's up to our negotiators to earn their crust now to get the best deal/trade off they can against the other
changes RM want to stiff us with.

I’ve spoken to lot of posties in our office that are of an age that could retire or in a position they could finish, most are quite adamant this will be their last year @ RM if Sundays & later starts are introduced, maybe that’s part of the plan?

In the video it's said they've already got 7000 colleagues with Sunday working in their contracts. Plus anyone starting now will have the 5 over 7 so why push it and piss everyone off who have neve had to work Sundays and probably wouldn't have signed upto a contract that included it? I know I wouldn't have, but on the flip side I want to get onto logistics and understand that Sunday working and bank holidays is part of that, but that would be my choice not forced onto me

My office already has too many Sunday workers as all the new starters are Weds to Sun contract, and there simply isn't enough work.

That Q&A is funny, such question/answer dodging going on.

Personally i'd happily work some Sundays, but the planning will be non existent so it's a no from me. And i'm leaving anyway
