Going on strike in the middle of August when mail volumes are always low would achieve sweet FA
Mail volumes are absolutely irrelevant in this dispute, it's a red herring, smoke and mirrors, a distraction, whatever you want to call it.

Royal Mail are not in the slightest bit interested in how much mail might be backlogged. They are interested in parcels and the confidence of the customers who send them.

Striking in August or September makes no difference.

That's exactly what I keep saying but it seems to sometimes fall on deaf ears, RM have invested shitloads of money to try and get big players like John Lewis etc on board as parcel sending customers, so even the threat of a strike wouldn't go down too well.

The CWU MUST NOT LET ROYAL MAIL DICTATE THE AGENDA. CALL A STRIKE NOW. Simple Simon needs to realise that the next monarch of this country , whose silhouette will be on all stamps, values RM and it's workforce extremely highly. Watch the pandemic video. He won't get directly involved but I will bet he will make his views known in no uncertain way via a government minister. If Simple Simon thinks that he can destroy a 400 year old Royal company that is at the heart of Great Britain and in particular the rural community, he will be in for real shock. I think he's trying to bully and threaten. us into running scared. Bullies are not known for their intelligence as threats are usually a last resort tactic. He really does underestimate the depth of anger and determination he faces.
