Simon, it’s obvious to us (TEAM) that you are out of your depth and grasping at straws. To fall back on the old “losing a million pounds a day” is laughable. Even more so when you yourself admit that these figures are for the last three months of the year which is the quietest period. Then we have the cost of living crisis contributing to people cutting back on their spending, not that you’d notice that of course.

You echo my thoughts exactly. I remember the day this smirking c*ckwomble became ceo and I knew at some point the mask would slip and he would come for all of us. We have one hell of a battle to save the few perks of this job that are left, don’t let this narcissist ruin our family life without a fight team.

This bell end must really think we're thick. The day after the CWU announces the ballot result he comes out in the media with the classic "we're losing £1m a day" quote. Obviously he thinks this sounds good so he can steal a march in the media campaign to besmirch striking workers. I'm sure many of you are like me and actually don't give a fig what a newsreader or the expert they wheel info the studios think. Come to that who cares what the public think, I don't need their endorsement on any other matters of my life so why do people think I need it regarding my employment.

I'm sure many of us will be asked by people on our rounds about the strike especially if the media keep up their anti strike campaign, however whilst it will help people to understand our reasons for striking by talking to them just remember we don't need to justify ourselves.

Dear Simon
Do you not feel being the CEO of a company that is losing a £1 million pound a day that somehow you aren't doing your job as well as you possibly could. Then throw it somehow this has entitled you to £142,000 in a bonus as well as your wage of 611,000 which roughly equates to 30 years wages for an ordinary postman so to help the company why not just hand in your notice. Then not actually replace you with the next leech sucking the life blood out of this once proud Public Service and get 30 postman who actually help to deliver the mail we are paid to for the Public.
Then if you truly cared about the company persuade the other 12 leechs that make up the board and are guiding us on the Pathway to Change(To being as successful a parcel company as Hermes and Yodel) Then yet again the wages saved on people who actually contribute the best part of f*** all for a Public Service can be used to have people deliver the mail

Dear Simon

If RM is being run so badly that it is losing £1million per day then why was £400million paid out to shareholders and what exactly did the CEO do to deserve his recent bonus?

As we move closer to simply being a minimum wage job then I doubt that many employees are too bothered about whether RM is successful in the future. If it goes under then there are plenty of vacancies out there. If you want your colleagues to feel committed to the company then you need to demonstrate, through their pay packet, that you value the hard physical work that they do and the toll that it takes on their bodies. Imposing a real terms pay cut and then trying to justify that as reasonable does the exact opposite, as does attacking sick pay and IHR for those whose bodies fail them from time to time in this physical job.
