Can we assume that those offices on the list will need a higher percentage of duties that incorporate Sunday working compared to those offices not on the list?

Our com has informed us that all walks that are rural or have buisness's on them will also continue delivering oversized in all offices.
They will be leaving the office very late then if the oversize are to be delivered that day.
The truth is his COM is talking shite, this proposal is at the very early stage of development and nobody really knows how it will impact on the affected delivery offices. The documentation given to managers is extremely vague, contradictory and practically incoherent in some parts.

Although it makes sense for rurals to continue to deliver oversized it will obviously depend on how early/late this stuff arrives and at what stage certain postcodes could be syphoned off but the idea that any COM knows enough to state that this and that will definitely happen is nonsense.

They'll have to go via the parcel hubs as once this kicks in, we won't have a large parcel setup, they'll all either get cross-docked to the parcel hubs or sorted to the parcel hubs
Have you decided that you will still sort and despatch stuff to the non parcel depots then? The other day you stated that you'd only be despatching to the parcel depots if this all goes ahead?
As it currently stands RM don't yet trust the accuracy of the sorting at the new hubs. once they do, we then won't touch anything that comes from them. Don't forget that only 1 hub is currently online, until the other two come on line (not seen anything recently about where the southern one will be located or when it'll open), we'll still get stuff to be sorted

Does anybody know how this is supposed to work, our DO is not on the list so those that mean, in theory at least, all our oversized will in future be delivered by the DO on the list which is some 15 miles away from our DO?
I think that is their basic plan. Obviously the offices that are losing the oversize, which is the majority of offices, will replace the time saved by having no oversized by making walks longer.
The only way to make "walks longer" is to reduce the number of walks/OPG's?

Every office will lose the oversized off the walks, that’s the point.

I imagine the end result of their plan if implemented will be a reduction in duties in those offices losing the oversize and an increase in duties in those offices delivering the oversize. That’s not to say anyone will be losing their job.

Nope. We often get sleeves from other MCs which are a right mix of large and small. At the moment, we extract the large which goes over to the large setup (vice versa for the large setup). Once them sleeves get cross docked, we won't touch them so if they are full will loads of large, you'll get loads of large

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

When does this start? And what'll be the knock on effect for CSP staff?

Wait til after the AGM when Simon tells everyone we're so broke that we are going to close all CSP and only offer redelivery of parcels no collections in person at all....I've seen the rumours out there.

Is it right to assume that the offices these large parcels are moved from could lose the drivers who have been delivering these parcels unless they relocate to the new parcel depots?

Correct.
