Our com has informed us that all walks that are rural or have buisness's on them will also continue delivering oversized in all offices.
The parcel depots must be sending a van out to you then, as once this kicks in, we'll sort packets only to the parcel hubs
The parcel hubs will get stuff direct or cross docked at a MC from the new super hubs for the parcel duties. The smaller stuff will still be sorted at the MC and despatched as normal. Do you really think that all MC will sort all the parcels including the small stuff and send it all to the new parcel hubs , then expect those delivery offices to sort it and despatch it to the other roughly 900 delivery offices using their clapped out vauxhall combis
The hubs will still get some small parcels and the normal DOs will still get some large parcels. These days the yorks and sleeves that arrive in the inward MCs are a right mix of large and small. To date near enough all the work that we get through from the super hubs is small Tracked. Currently all Tracked from the hubs still has to be individually scanned.
Don't know if some of the early runs to DOs will get axed, will there be enough work on some of the early runs to justify the early runs happening?
If any reps are approached about becoming a parcel hub over the next week or so, you must listen to the manager then tell the manager that this is being discussed at national level and is part of the dispute resolution process and you cannot discuss it.
We believe Royal Mail may take executive action. You should also tell your members not to discuss this with management as it’s not been agreed by the CWU.
The office effected will most likely be the LAT hubs but there may be other offices targeted.
Didn't the pathway to change say that at least 85 percent of parcels will still go out on the core delivery?
We have had no information about this either from the local union or the management.
There are about 6 north London offices on that list will they be taking parcels from the other 16 DOs not on the list .

That's the plan with a knock on effect of less work in the other offices so duties removed and rounds made bigger
Watch this space for another serious mess up. Someone will say "It's all achievable on the computer simulation" , unfortunately real life is not like that. At the end of the day "they" will just blame us posties for it not working
I thought that was what the park and loop rounds were for. I mean two staff in a van so that you didn't have to go up the driveway twice! Might just have well go back to bikes.

I don't think this question has been asked, but if it has, apologies.
My office is a LAT office and is also on the parcel depot list. If / when this comes in, do these offices have separate parcel duties for walks in their own offices as well as parcel duties for non-parcel depots units or the duties take their own packets as we do now?

At a guess I'd say these parcel offices would have duties covering their own deliveries plus the offices not on the list in their area. On that list there are the 2 biggest do's in my area and there are about 4 smaller offices not on the list. Maybe the 2 parcel depots will take 2 offices each? Wouldn't fancy the duties covering my office they will be rammed everyday and I would say undoable unless they are going to have at least 2 duties for each postcode area, my office has 4 separate ones and they are big and spread out and very very busy for parcels
Does anybody know how this is supposed to work, our DO is not on the list so those that mean, in theory at least, all our oversized will in future be delivered by the DO on the list which is some 15 miles away from our DO?
Our com has informed us that all walks that are rural or have buisness's on them will also continue delivering oversized in all offices.
They will be leaving the office very late then if the oversize are to be delivered that day.
They'll have to go via the parcel hubs as once this kicks in, we won't have a large parcel setup, they'll all either get cross-docked to the parcel hubs or sorted to the parcel hubs

Have you decided that you will still sort and despatch stuff to the non parcel depots then? The other day you stated that you'd only be despatching to the parcel depots if this all goes ahead?

I think that is their basic plan. Obviously the offices that are losing the oversize, which is the majority of offices, will replace the time saved by having no oversized by making walks longer.
