re:
Tony McCarthy brought Kevin Green in I thought? Could be wrong but seems likely as he is leaving shortly after McCarthy.
HR at Royal Mail in general has lacked much imagination and has had to mainly deal with disputes and redundancies rather than being able to really make a great place to work. Once the modernisation is done and the final large tranche of jobs go (another 40,000) then whoever is in the senior HR position can start to really do something off real merit. Bear in mind the HR processing department still needs to be outsourced which will be a major upheavel.
Calling him a henchman doesn't really fit with his fairly slight build

Re: re:
"Interesting " ? -I can accept the point about RM being beleaguered , I can accept Lord Sawyer's points about people being tired given RM's Dire Industrial Relations before Curly Watts and Reg Holdsworth took over .at Bettabuys -sorry Royal Failure .F0zziebear wrote:Tony McCarthy brought Kevin Green in I thought? That just sounds like the Siege Mentality Management that Unite Leaders complain about .I can imagine there's fires to be put out but Old St act like a cabal of arsonists .
The Business plan lacked vision & imagination too. :lfo :cfo, either someone's thrown their rattle out of it's pram as they didn't get their own way and /or there's one of the legendary "personalty clashes " , Toime got £500K for his , we'd get a P45 !, or most likely there's a problem with the Cat Food Salesman's dated "leadership" style and his clones .
From my experience in Public Service , they were paid up or brought back as Consultants to keep their mouths shut about anything that was contentious /controversial.
Sorry Fozzie we heard that great place to work bit ages ago , all this "we gave the ungrateful b***ards sweetener bonuses and we can't understand the poor morale "b***ocks .

The Agenda seems to be soften them up for sectorisation & privatisation as these Senior Managers are on the look out for opportunities , can't have the CWU p***ing on their parade for the future eh now ?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
