Just applied for a Friday and Saturday in September, excited to see how quickly ill get it rejected 😂

Also- is there a way to cancel/change leave that is already chosen? (On the app, i know you can speak to a manager)
No
Only if it’s not been approved or rejected on the App

Annual leave via the app just means your dom doesn't have to say "no" to your face.

Was told by the bookroom staff not to use the app to book leave as it will just be left unanswered as the manager doesn’t deal with leave.

Also been told the same by my Lino. They will not use the app for booking leave nor reply to it. The balls in your court Zerena. If you don’t reply to my request within a certain timescale I’ll be taking it. Photo shots are on my phone.

As a test, two nights ago when it went live, I booked a single day for in a few months time. The message went straight to the book room.

The book room guy emerged, went to my COM and had a brief chat. They then both came over to my frame and rejected my request as leave ceiling is full for that day.

Then the book room guy said "in the future, don't bother with the app. Just put your head around the door and ask me like usual. Then I can either say yes or no straight away."

I'm still chuckling, this company is batshit nuts.

I was told exactly the same thing. I’ve always gone through the book room if I’ve needed to get or change leave.

This all needs to be communicated to the “higher ups”.

Things like this seriously piss me off.

ANNUAL LEAVE SUBMITTED VIA THE APP

We are aware some units are under the impression that once annual leave requested via the People App has been approved in PSP it must then be entered manually via the Time and Absence Entry Screen. We can confirm this is not the case.

Once annual leave requests submitted via the App (or Me at Work) have been approved it can take a couple of hours to show in Time & Entry screens.
Please note – any annual leave approved or entered on PSP will not be reflected in MI reports until the following day.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Who else has been told by their managers that their office are not allowing this and all annual leave has to be requested the old way (submitted on paper)?

What a joke to tell us all that this is the new improved way of doing things, only for sh** local managers to tell us no, for whatever reason- im guessing laziness but who knows.

Update: had the leave rejected because "leave slots are full"

Ditto. The app is as useful as a chocolate teapot. I've got leave slots for next January and obviously I want to swap them for the weeks off for when I want them.

So still I'm faced with putting in an annual request leave form and waiting weeks for acceptance, in which case the holidays now gone and nothings available.

I was part of a team that implemented something like this, but much better, at British Gas. 20 years ago...

Thing is, it's completely useless unless its attached to a holiday availability tracker or it's really just replacing one manual function for the managers with another. You're just shooting in the dark hoping to hit an available day/week.
