if its done the way they were going to do it last time, i.e. in sections, mail centres one day, D.O.s the next, RDCs next, MDECs the next, and so on, we give maximum disruption with minimal impact to pay. its better that way, losing maybe a day a week than 2 or 3 in a row, so i hope its the way it will pan out.

Its the cost of living crisis everything's sky rocketed up coupled with the top brass blatantly stealing the money and then lying like there is non like we are all dumb straight after a pandemic and then changing terms and conditions,all the big corporations seem to be at it maybe its the GREAT RESET in action.

I think to be honest Simon"s charm offensive has completely backfired.

I've never known Royal Mail to get a dispute so badly wrong. The suspicious part of me wonders if it's deliberate because their position and PR has been so terrible right from the start but mostly I think he's out of his depth and being poorly advised.

1. Their original pay offer was derisory, way below what could even be described as a low ball first offer.

2. Bringing forward these proposed changes some of which are clearly unworkable and others which no union is ever going to accept may have been designed to distract but they are so far out there that members' attitudes have hardened towards any kind of concessions.

3. Imposing the pay award may have seemed like a smart move but it's removed a chunk of potential back pay that would have been used to sweeten any deal and left most members believing that senior management simply want to steamroll any changes they see fit.

4. Workplace. It has now become a standing joke and his senior management are the punchline, totally out of touch comments that leave the reader wondering if they work for the same company.

I would go as far as to say that Simon and his gang have done more to secure a strong mandate for strike action than the CWU.

Again though... that little niggle that won't go away , is it just sheer incompetence or is it.... deliberate?

Given the mess they created when introducing photo capture & new PDA's that don't work in the rain it's most likely the former, I also doubt Simon would go to the trouble of boosting the Trust score to only to then have any progress blown away a few weeks later deliberately. What's odd is that he's not attending the pay rise/changes talks but continually referencing other companies disputes on Workplace.

how the hell are they going to expect say a 64 year old postie to finish their round in the same time as a 21 year old
Most of the new workforce dont do the job properly and havent been trained.

If you look back at the other CEOs they've all tried the same thing there is a psychopathical attitude come across as here to help when starting, then gradually you will do what i say attitude,is there a school for this behaviour im hopeing its incompetence.

Let's do a week for each section, so nearly a month of disruption. Hopefully that would get them talking sense but if not remind them that the ballot will be active until Christmas so the next planned one will be end of November round about black Friday time right upto Christmas day

What we need is the UK government to back out telling private companies on the stock market to butt out the RM put Prices up on average 5.7% and said it may increase them further depending on pay settlements. The UK governments grubby hands are all over this and BT settlement's just as they are all over these people in the Carlton Club chief whips and law breakers need only apply!

Don't think a week for each section would work, RM would just flood a MC with casuals for a week with managers doing the SDs and all mech going as manual unless there's any mech trained casuals
