Sorting Tests

Post by the trooper »

Our DOM has just started doing sorting tests. She says we have to do 250 letters in 10 mins, with a pass rate of 99%. Are these figures correct?

The pass rate is defo wrong, you're not robots.
And the last one i done was only 2mins long.

While someone more in the know will tell you the proper stats and stuff, your DOM seems like a twat.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

That's the p40 check postman.

The old IPS test used to be 500+ with 1% errors in 20min or less.

just tell your Dom, that he has to adhear to the Individual Performance Standards and this is a National Agreement, it consists of 2, 1min sorting tests, and the best thing about it is that management hate it but we love it. :left:

Mate as you have been more than capable of finding your way around this great informative forum :Applause :Applause then I would suggest that you also find your way around the CWU Website look at the homepage and on the left hand side under where it says Agreement click the arrow you should then view Individual Performance click open the link there and hey presto all you need to know about the Individual Performance Standards Agreement.

The test and the pass rate of which your misguided DOM refers to is pure fabrication and wishful thinking on her behalf. This is the National Agreement as it stands at present. If she insists on carrying out these tests then immediately contact your unit IR Rep or Area IR Rep and get them to sort it out also consider informing CWU HQ as to just exactly what is going on in your delivery office.

A nice phrase to use is sorry but I think you will find that you are abrogating the National Agreement on Individual Performance Standards but if you insist then I will be working under extreme duress and could you please provide me with an HR1 Form (Or equivalent that deals with harassment).

Your first point of contact though should always be with your union rep or health and safety rep.

Walk sequencing machines only deal with the cream of the post that has been meched into the walk selection. Rest of it is down to manual sorting thus testing.
