I'm only just joining the union this week.

Why?

Because I only just got my contract, and having only worked for companies that do things normally I work under the assumption that if you're out of a contract you're expendable, and don't expect the job to last.

Also all the newbies were erroneously told that the CWU is "just £10 a week," get no sick pay and have to work Sundays, in addition to fluctuating wages due to 30hr contracts, random overtime requests and the bat guano way of paying random lump sums for holiday overtime
