Stock market rumours from a while back mentioned a break up,I could imagine parcel/packets joining with parcel force and letters going back to government owned service

They'll probably sell gls off so it's a big payday for shareholders before they all leave the sinking ship

The government saying 'employees should not be asking for big pay rises'.....

What is a 'big' pay rise in their eyes?

and are we actually being lied to that getting a 'big' pay rise is bad for inflation.... because I am no economist. Maybe we are just being messed around.

Screw it... I have said I'd be happy with 6.6%....I am changing my mind....

I say a 9% pay rise is fair. No strings attached.

£800million profits....

and they give us a 9% real terms loss in pay.

and give themselves pay rises and bonuses that could buy a house outright.

They see you as a piece of dirt on the bottom of their shoe.

Anyone still going above and beyond for this company?, is anyone still working over their time for RM and not cutting off? it's time to cut off. it's time to take all your breaks. No more free work.

Well hope he can still feed them when they take it back in august
They're not taking it back in August.
They're paying it in advance up to August.
They will take it back in August. After they have calculated the correct amount of back pay you are owed and paid arrears.
The lump sum is a (non pensionable) gesture until back pay can be sorted out.
Any back pay will be pensionable.

He’s not talking about that though, is he.

It’s not difficult to understand.

What gave you that idea? Not saying you're wrong but have not seen anything to say they will take the lump sum back. It's more likely and easier to just calculate the difference and either increase or subtract that amount surely.

That's just pedantic.
Nobody is physically taking anything back.
It's simply a calculation.

They will just adjust the tax and "un pay" it, and then tax the actual pay rise money when it comes through.

The 2% Simon has enforced....

I assume we haven't had any of this yet? as the only increase in pay I see on my payslip is due to the changes to National Insurance....

When will we receive back payment and start getting paid the 2% in our weekly pay? or has it already been implemented and someone's screwed up my pay?
