Yeah, you missed that you have to also swallow now.
If that list is true, then they are basically saying we now own you.

Re: Royal mail proposal's
They know they would never get it all pushed through - its just part of their negotiating tactic
What they are really after this time is imo
1. Avoiding having to give a pay rise anywhere near inflation
2. Sunday being added to duty structures
3. Allowances gone ( NOT delivery supplement before anyone says it )
4. Adjustment to the sick policy ( more likely to be a change to threshold of stages rather than whats being proposed )
I think the rest is added so they can take them away for the sake of 'conceding' some things and frighten enough of us into thinking just the above is better than it could have been
I expect this dispute to result in a pretty substandard payrise ( but more than 2% ) the other three being implemented in some form

If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Re: Royal mail proposal's
I don’t think management have the skills or experience to bring in any major operational changes with an agreement with the union and it’s members.
The current level of abilities of operational management within this company is far and away the worst I’ve ever seen in my 25 years.
In my area Sunday working is already in, it has between 18-20 staff every week and is a mixture of Duty(3) SA(8) and the rest are volunteers.
All of this was implemented during covid with virtually no input from management - it’s the biggest unit in the area and still has no manager running it all,the staffing and routing is done by the rep and staff.
I don’t deliver packets on a Sunday ( I work in distribution) and I’m explaining how the operation was set up and is run on Sunday to emphasise my point about lack of management capabilities.

Re: Royal mail proposal's
If you didn’t turn up you wouldn’t get paid, there is a sheet to sign and you have to use a PDA.
The point I was making is that the only reason the operation was set up and continues on Sunday’s was and is purely down to Staff - management didn’t have clue how to organise this, so I don’t think any operational changes imposed through executive action would be very successful.

You only have to look at the way managers have managed lapsing, totally wrong to know all these things they want to bring in will be used in the most inappropriate way, annualised hours?….they will have posties on the street at midnight!!!

RMCtv : Simon Thompson : The changes we need
2 pdf's in that thread, and loads more in other threads in the 'Pay Talks' forum.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Royal mail proposal's
ok we work later
longer hours in winter months
bigger delivery spans
take it royal mail have done a full health and safety evaluation re these points
and risk assessed outcomes of effects on staff
6 hrs walking in winter weather 5 days a week only going to go one way
and imagine all the accidents due to working in darkness
torches will not be a massive help
oh and will we require headlights for our trollies
