Re: Zareena "Your just like Asda employees" Brown
RM continually try to claim that we get very well paid and that we should be grateful for that and be thankful for anything they “give” us.
Work at Asda for £11 per hour or walk 6+miles a day in all weathers with a bag on your back for £12 per hour - I know which job I would choose , it’s a no brainer for me , I would prefer Asda.
It’s RM management(Simon and Zareena) who 10 months ago on workspace Actually compared us to ‘Doris’ from Asda in relation to our wages and implied we should be grateful.
Vote yes

That we don't exist in a bubble.
That pay is a hierarchical construct.
That we're rapidly sliding towards the bottom.
As very few of us do this job for the sheer joy the only way we can measure whether it's worth continuing is by looking at other unskilled work and how much it pays.
It's not rocket science.
I'm not sure how well rocket science pays.

A quick google tells me that it's about 34k average. Maybe rocket scientists aren't all too bright after all! Although I'd be happy to do it for the same money I get now and a stack of business cards

National minimum wage is £9.50 only for those aged 23 and over. It starts at £4.81 for 16/17 year olds.

Pretty sure there's no actual job in asda as a shelf stacker you have to be trained on all parts till trained also.the only parts that are different is George and bakery tho I believe they don't make bread in store anymore its brought in from somewhere else..ps I don't work there the wife does.

Pretty sure you’ll not be working 7-3 Monday to Saturday in Asda either . So many variables when comparing jobs

No chance of that I’ve driven for a supermarket. One day was 6.30am -2.30, next day 3.30pm - 11.30pm. Any 5 days out of 7 including Sundays. They also ask you on your days off if you can come in,on the day itself! The shift pattern is awful, but if you can suffer that then the job itself was ok.picture123 wrote: ↑25 Jun 2022, 17:18Pretty sure you’ll not be working 7-3 Monday to Saturday in Asda either .
