2% pay-rise is an absolute insult for what we’ve been through over the last 2 years… but what is it exactly we’re fighting/striking for? Inflation is about 11% - but there is absolutely no way Royal Mail is going to award that as a yearly rise.

I think the best we could hope for is a rise in line with the 6.6% of the National Minimum Wage - but even that feels like dreamland.

Royal Mail have made this about terms & conditions - personally I’d take the 2% along with a lump sum reward for our efforts over the last 2 years - maybe £2000? - and leave alone our terms & conditions.

This job is f****d if Royal Mail get their way with “The Changes We Need”.

So really I’ve answered my own question as to what we’re fighting for - it’s not a grievance about pay - it’s fighting for the job some of us love. We are not another DPD, Amazon or Evri, yet our CEO seems hell bent on ruining our brand and the unique service we offer.

Based on what the National Minimum Wage has gone up and what a lot of other employees of other companies are getting..... 5% would be the minimum I'd expect, or 3.5% with a £1000 lump sum payment. No strings.

They the government are blaming us for inflation yet no one has had a pay rise can you get this in your heads. Some serious s**t is coming down the line and it no train. The real truth is we as are nation bust and it's all because of not COVID-19 but BREXIT how come france has inflation at 5% most of europe less than 7% we are going to 9% or 11%. We are screwed you know why because the cost of importing goods to our island nation the fact we cannot sustain our population without importing goods in 1942 with 49 million population we had to have a 55 million ton's of goods to avoid starvation. Now we have 68 million plus even bigger than france it's self I am 100% sure the less needy will not starve especially with fine french cheese and wine truffles and cake. But this is damning indictment of our own society in this day and age!

Never judge another industry and their deals. Unless you work for RR we can't know the full details of their dispute. We all need to stand together and ignore any BS the right wing media present us we won't get public support but if we stand together we can bring about the change the country needs.

Nothing to do with Brexit and everything to do bailing out the Banksters via QE.
The EU and the UK are currently sanctioning themselves into poverty so they can virtue signal.

Why an all out strike? We are playing into their hands, they won't have to pay any wages, why can't we work to rule with an overtime ban? That way they will still have to pay us our basic wage but it won't be long before the place is in chaos

RM would soon start suspending or sacking people to provoke unofficial walkouts which would invalidate any ballot result.
