Attachment below.
32 hours in the summer, up to 42 in the winter. In theory, an hour off of every day in the summer and more than an hour on it in the winter. And a commitment to deliver that means you may finish early or late - but the hours being "banked" (as owed or owing) so no overtime for completing your day although you will be expected to do so.

My duty during Christmas pressure is not achievable, I will be out till 5pm at the least, this will break people myself included, who want to walk about for 6hours plus in winter, this will backfire massively, with people of sick and leaving if this happens this year, buy your Christmas presents early.

And it will be later than that! If you currently start at 0700, moving the start time by 3 hours means starting at 1000. 44 hours would mean an 8 to 9 hour day, so finishing around 6pm to 7pm, plus the "commitment to deliver" and "flexi-bank" meaning you stay our longer to finish!dohnut wrote: ↑20 Jun 2022, 18:30My duty during Christmas pressure is not achievable, I will be out till 5pm at the least, this will break people myself included, who want to walk about for 6hours plus in winter, this will backfire massively, with people of sick and leaving if this happens this year, buy your Christmas presents early.

How the hell in god's name will they monitor this? Could we trust them? after all it is not the first time someones leave has been f****d up by management and he is saying to us all trust him the guy was in charge of test and trace for COVID-19. Now I know I was a against the mask wearing but this whole thing could have been mitigated by contacting and tracing those who were infected yet he did not manage it, So if he cannot find one person who was possibly infected by COVID-19 with £37 BILLION how will he know how many hours or minutes you actually worked last week month with the whole of the ROYAL MAIL turnover of just £10 billion. I think we have a SNAKE OIL MAN in charge https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snake_oil The only thing I will add is IF IT LOOKS LIKE A TURD SMELLS LIKE A TURD IT IS A TURD!

Just quickly read part of that PDF.
So summer annual leave weeks cost less hours and winter ones cost more. But with less summer annual leave slots opened, because lapsing won't be an option (it isn't now with less contract time this summer compared to last summer), summer leave will be even more desirable.
But you would be expected to deliver everything for your duty everyday while at work and if you go over, build up "Flexi" that you will somehow get back.
Starting ~3 hours later than now, so in the winter, we will be delivering in the dark and cold for ~4+ hours.
Is it the morning of April 1st again?

And here I was thinking this job can't get any worse, how wrong I was. Actually if he want to pay me £20.00 an hour I will agree to his shitty terms.

So we get more weeks off for holidays in summer.
Does that mean that I can get 12 weeks off paid leave per year instead of 6?
Honestly cannot see this working. There would be so many arguments over who's banked what and I can't see many staff happily working past their usual scheduled time in winter for two main reasons: 1. most staff simply don't want to work past their usual finish time, and 2. postal staff are not on a basic salary of over £42K a year therefore expecting them to work past their shift in winter without overtime is a no go area.
Also, reading through the blurb they mention about a reduction in lapsing in the summer, rather than it being scrapped completely, which means that Royal Mail still want to have their cake and eat it.

Just done some quick maths. 6 weeks x 37 hours = 222
222 divided by 32 hours (summer hours) = 6.93 weeks per year
Nah its ok Simon, I will pass on that one thanks

I work in a fairly isolated medium sized town with terrible shopping facilities and consequently we have much larger packet volumes than many similar sized units. We are also the furthest office serviced by our mail centre and don't receive our last wagon until 8am, sometimes later.
During Christmas pressure, it isn't uncommon for the van share duties who wish to complete to earn OT to finish between 5pm and 6pm, sometimes later.
The prospect of potentially having to work up to 9pm in December because we are committed to completing what's presented to us is not going down well to say the least......and that's without anybody even mentioning the question of not being paid overtime for it.

On average, a proposed summer 32hr week day will be 6hrs20mins, which includes 30mins paid break. Our current ~7 hour "short" days don't always mean completing everyday right now, even without lapsing, bringing back mail.
Yet they want everything attempted everyday regardless of how much you go over, building up Flexi that will no doubt be Mission Impossible to get back (looks like paid overtime won't exist).
What will the existing part time "overtime bandits" do? Quit and come back on the worse pay rate, longer full time hours contracts?

For a company that comes out with some shite , this is the absolute cherry on the top
Absolutely none of what they’ve proposed about annualised hours is even the slightest bit workable and they must know that?
They’ve not even built a system to collate these “flexi” hours …..it’s near on impossible to get annual leave now and lots of that particular proposal is contradictory.
And as others have said , how tf are you working 10-7 in the winter or later when it’s crimbo ????? What kind of idiot is ever agreeing to that whilst they also cut your sick pay ?
It’s genuinely madness

If no one understands the system then ....the one eyed man is king. Open to abuse, ripe for it in fact. Just another impregnable wall surrounding the citadel of bullshit wherein dwells emperor Kafka.

At the moment I book dentist/doctor appointments for 430pm or later to avoid my working day - not perfect but it works. But in the future ........
How can I take an hour off for a medical appointment when I work on a van share?
How do I book any time off for an appointment when I "commit to finish"?
How do I get any time off in the winter with longer days?
How can I trust a system that lets me know my hours "4-10 weeks" in advance? To me that reads that it may be as much as 10 weeks, could could change 4 weeks before. This in a company that produces a new roster for the current week at least once a day.
How do I trust any system to know what I "banked" months ago when I have to check my overtime every week?

That mirrors everything I do & how are office runs, in addition what happens when a member or members of staff are off sick etc, we usually spend an hour or two clearing their Tracked etc in over time, how can that be done when we get back to the DO at gone 7pm? Plus what's going to happen to the afternoon collections/SA work?fb1969 wrote: ↑20 Jun 2022, 21:44At the moment I book dentist/doctor appointments for 430pm or later to avoid my working day - not perfect but it works. If we're working extra hours in the winter are we really going to be expected to work past 9 pm outdoors? Who's going to be desperate enough to do that for just £12 an hour?
