Letters are down. Parcels are down. D2D are down.
That is my experience. If your area is different good luck to you.

Loops that required a trolley in the midst of the pandemic are now done without even a bag.
I can walk past 10/15 houses without delivering anything.
I empty 5 boxes. I probably average 30 letters/day. It is not uncommon for 2 of those boxes to be empty.

If you are snowed under with work enjoy it while it lasts.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Some of these comments 😀 clearly not all walks are even remotely close in terms of size . Loops on my walk are well over 30 mins long and there are 8. Add to that the ridiculous parcel volumes , leaflets and new student flats . Oh and a lovely wedge of lapsing each day whether we like it or not .

What's any of that got to do with whether the mail is down?

Yes totaly agree letters are down.I think since covid finished I've had one week without D2Ds ,.I dream pizzas.lol
Letters are down?... and then you get a mailing (about high speed internet in your area, council tax, council journal, rent, jehovah's witness, etc...) to every address. Letters are down and then you get elections. Letters are down and then you get another pandemic NHS letter fest, bird flu, pox. Letters are down but not every week. Remember stamp prices are through the roof so there's still plenty of profit! Small parcels are in your loop bundles more and more. Yes, Covid tests are less because they aren't free anymore but I've got a deluge of STD kits for student rounds. Every morning you get dizzy with how much zapping of tracked parcels you have to do. 4/5 of the year you are completely busted up by the amount of parcels. Nearly every house gets a parcel, zapping mad, up steps, down steps . Oversized parcels are getting larger and larger. You are working from a little partner van stuffed to the ceiling most weeks. Heh, you get a few crummy weeks of holiday respite and student holidays and the management are immediately on you with pda actuals and lapsing. Bonus for performance? Should have had one every day for the last decade.
