I've noticed that Saturday collections are no longer around lunchtime, which gave everyone all morning to get to the post box, but early Saturday morning, which makes them practically useless such that within months there will be an announcement that Saturday collections are to be withdrawn because very, very little is posted then anymore. Yet further detioriation of a once great public service.

yeah same in mine....6 hours monday morning....plus they introduced an additional afternoon run with a couple of yorks of mail to our mail centre daily so the mail centre has extra time to process our collections....quite where the savings are being made from removing the sunday runs i dont know

The lack of a Sunday collection,(initially) was making the Monday 12 o'clock collection very heavy.There-fore the
traditionally light Tuesdays were'nt so light. Hence a backlog in DO's.No room for cuts in DO's either.
The new agreement's ink is'nt even dry yet, however even though a cessation of Sunday collections is on it
and should count as a saving,it has done the opposite.
Silly "laptop" planning again........

They're not paying the Sunday rate for one although it wasn't much more than the normal o/t rate anyway. Plus now it aint in writing they can drop it anytime they like to suit themselves.
