Fair enough you haven't had the best wpc but two days or even a week isn't enough time to get to grips with the job.
Thanks for the reply, I understand it takes a long to time learn things I excepted that in the interview and on day one. It's more about the first expressions of RM what I experienced, the WPC and the training expectations are interesting. I still want to be a postie but want to be trained more positively. I guess I will re-apply in a year or so after RM has been re-branded as Royal Parcels and hopefully a culture change.
Yes it sounds like it stressed you out a bit which I can understand its a shame your wpc or anyone wasn't more attentive best of luck anyway.

I still want to be a Postie, and to have a decent WPC.
We had a lass in our office who wanted a 3 day walk, she could not get one so packed up, she contacted Simon (don’t know how someone must know) few weeks later she was back in the office doing 3 days, might be worth it if your really want the job?

The workplace coach roles are not fit for purpose, Royal Mail and the union know this however the union see it as a win by getting easy money into the pocket of certain employees. The selection process for these roles is also flawed as they generally go to the arse lickers and backstabbers.

Seems to me like it's wannabe managers who can't quite make it or have one foot in but it's definitely arse lickers.

Don't know about the union input if any but definitely the latter, this is an allowance that absolutely needs to be dispensed with the sooner the better.

Waste of money WPC
When a new starter's come into the office to start that day it's easy for a manager to play videos about mail security or release an experienced postie to play videos and then give them a tour of the office etc
Plus the management know the staffing that day and the following weeks and who they can place the new starter with over next few weeks with a daily allowance the days they need trained
Keeping a new starter on a duty for 6 weeks is impossible because of staffing
No need for WPC
Costs the business 2.4 million a year ruff figures
When easily you only need to pay out a daily allowance when needed

Is there such a thing as training allowance now? Haven't seen our WPC take anybody out on a round ever! If you're asked to take out a newbie for a couple of days training shouldn't you get extra?
Seems nuts that they pay someone to train but they don't actually do any training!

Yip daily allowance 5 to 6 quid say to manager or rep better in your pocket than not to claim it

Yip I've seen the managers miss the WPC and go to a postie and pay the daily allowance bonkers
