The high voice always puts me off.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: The Great "Mybungleplus" Mystery
Well said. I too just stuck £200 onto my Sainsburys card, that's £12 for free and will ages. I still shop at Lidl for things i like that they do cheaply such as clingfilm. Add in a Nectar card and (they've now stopped) points double up, i got some decent quality kitchen bits that i needed for very cheap.
Screwfix 6% and Wickes at 10%, also very good for DIY and tools.
I will miss these deals when i leave in the next few months.
With the cost of living people are mad to not use such deals. When using moneysavingexpect to grab other deals on broadband, credit cards and bank accounts there's still a fair amount of deals to be had. A SMALL part of people struggling today is because they're not savvy with their money, and i see this a lot at RM. Consistently buying food and drink at the local shop, or visiting Greggs/Coffee shop each day.

Heaven forbid a working man buy a coffee or pie in a shop!WASD wrote: ↑06 Jun 2022, 10:57Well said. I too just stuck £200 onto my Sainsburys card, that's £12 for free and will ages. Next the feckless bastards will be wanting a pint or two after a hard day's graft...
I absolutely take your point though. I take my own sarnies and flask, but in this day and age it really shouldn't be like this...not in the fifth (I think, if memory serves correctly) richest country in the world.
The class divide has never gone away, it's just taken while to reach tipping point sgain. I think we, as a society, are near it, especially if we have a long, sweltering summer...
Sooner or later, a beat dog bites.

Yeah it's a double edged sword sadly. Either support those local businesses like coffee shops and cafes etc, or be secure yourself. Independent hospitality businesses if not on their last legs from covid, definitely will be soon.crimson king wrote: ↑07 Jun 2022, 05:51Heaven forbid a working man buy a coffee or pie in a shop!

Always surprises me that more Posties don't make their own cup of Tea/Coffee in the office. The Drinks Machine is in the rest room ... right next to the worktop (which has a Burco for HOT water and a fridge for your milk)
The DOM used to turn up with a Costa Fortune Cup every morning. I mentioned to him that as he was always complaining he was short of money he could save quite a bit by cutting out the Caramel-Latte-Frappa-Mocha every morning!

Like all Wage Slaves, he had two crosses to bear: The people he worked for and the people he worked with! (Stephen Vizinczey.)
