And as we know...
RMCtv : Zareena 'I'm still a people person-not when it comes to money tho' Brown : Some allowances just don't make sense at this point in time-so we want to take 'em away

Re: Poll : Should Simon resign?
To be fair I think the only person who mentioned RM scrapping 32 allowances was Mr Walsh.
RM spoke about consolidating and buying out.
Do they all make sense? No.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Poll : Should Simon resign?
There was very little clarity in Royal Mail's initial offer probably because it was cobbled together at the last minute to send the union and its members into panic mode.

It is relevant when people are assuming its including the delivery supplement

It's not accidental, it's deliberate misinformation. It is relevant when people are assuming its including the delivery supplement
It's page one stuff to be honest.
You could see the effect Martin's post had on here, by the end of the day people were seriously talking about all allowances and supplements being removed, deliveries starting at 1pm and being franchised, no sick pay at all and RM doing a P&O on the lot of us.
Then surprise surprise they come in with a piss poor no strings offer and I'm getting members at work saying maybe we should accept it because at least there are no strings.
Exactly the effect RM were looking for just before we ballot the membership.

Re: Poll : Should Simon resign?
I had exactly the same conversation with someone after telling them we were now being offered 2% no strings. We've got to up our coms game but it's very hard to do without all the facts which is the obvious reason they have closed talks. 2% is an insult end of...but I can't help feeling the majority would cave for as little as 4% and compulsory Sundays for new entrants.

Simon Says# Hands in ma pockets-fiddling with ma bits-costs the company money!
a fact for you - if everyone wasted - 1 minute in delivery - all year - that would cost £5m - so ten minutes is £50m, and 100 minutes £500m - every second counts....

Re: Poll : Should Simon resign?
So all the times we have to reset our PDAs it costs the business a fortune. Maybe they should have thought of this. Again I have to question his maths. Is he saying that the drop from 39hrs to 37hrs has cost the business £600m? 120(mins) x £5m The yearly figures don’t reflect this.

Re: Poll : Should Simon resign?
I wonder how much actual, physical, productive work I do in the time it takes Si to come up with a new load of bollocks.
I waste time at least once a week (often more) trying to deliver a re-delivery to someone who still isn't in. Maybe RM should surcharge people for wasting my time like that - or maybe Si thinks it's my fault like everything else seems to be.

Re: Poll : Should Simon resign?
They have no idea, do they.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the amount of time wasted in DOs due to prehistoric practice is ludicrous.
If he wants to talk about productivity and that we need to improve ours, explain to me firstly why I often spend 10-15 minutes daily trying to locate a manager to sign a piece of flippin paper confirming my previous days overtime.
You need to start with the basics, Simon, as we are miles off even having those right. Nevermind your drones, electric vans (that you can’t even plug in) and your automation, if all that at some point comes into contact with a delivery office it immediately becomes redundant and any benefit is down the drain. We have people literally on the floor sorting parcels, double or Even triple handling of those parcels, paper sign in and out, Wi-Fi that isn’t up to the job meaning we can’t sign in until we’re out of the office . The list goes on. Mate,, it’s an embarrassment

The basic technology already exists to be able to sort parcels down to walk level or even sequence them, it just needs improving to speed and scale it upsmartin1982 wrote: ↑30 May 2022, 08:45We have people literally on the floor sorting parcels, double or Even triple handling of those parcels,

You’re missing the point as usual. As soon as that sequenced or walk level sorting hits the delivery office the benefit is lost due to inefficient DO processes.
