its simple i would just stop driving for the company if this was brought in compulsory :thumbup .
Doors over there, youd be refusing a reasonable request if you have a valid driving licence.

What about refusing to work on the sabbath religious discrimination?
The Sabbath is actually Friday evening to Saturday evening.

It's complicated.
Some argue it's midnight to midnight.
Some argue it's sunset to sunset.
Some argue it should follow Jerusalem time.
And that's just inside Judaism.

Looking ahead , everyone I smell lots of companies ready to commit even more to royal mail, if the Sunday deal goes in, the talks are probably well on between major and lesser companies, with RM. Hence the desperation to pass these new working ways asap. Its true isn't it Si and Ricky , MONEY TALKS.......... SUNDAY HERE WE COME!

Surely we can only do 10x more if the customers order
Many of the parcels you deliver on a Monday could be available for Sunday delivery.

The Yorks are actually sitting in our DO while the "Sunday" parcels are being delivered which to be fair a bit messed up.
They deliver some of the stuff that’s sitting in the DO up here to give them something to do.

There are many valid reasons someone might have to remove themselves from driving.

Only someone really silly would just point blank refuse.
I was employed in 1988 and driving was not required for the position at the time.

That doesn't really make any difference.
Your contract from 1988 is no longer valid. Contracts evolve through collective agreements and custom and practice.

If it were to go to a tribunal RM could easily say you've accepted the driving role by doing the changeover/driving assessment and driving for years, even accepting the driving allowance for years. That would supercede your original contract.

But like I said there are plenty valid reasons for removing yourself from driving, it would be silly just to refuse and potentially lose your job for breach of contract.

if judging by what ive read working sunday will become a dutys or dutys to be picked if you want it so im not to worried if there not picked they will go to the newest starts which in ours will be included in there contract.but im not stupid either so...on a different note if you want to play the religeon card you would have to be a Seventh-day Adventist for which sunday is a no no.Am i one? not telling...

Happens with us too, and when the other office bods can't find an address they scan it as inaccessible and write that on the parcel.
Next day the duty holders get moaned at to the effect that 'I was in all day and the road was clear, what are you lot playing at?'.
