Depends how you’ve phrased your message,you need to state you are fit for work on a specific day.
ie Saturday evening you could of texted :
Hi ,Simon Smith here ,just letting you know from to today I’m fit to work,then that would be 13 days.
Or
Hi ,Simon Smith here, just letting you know I will be back at work Monday ,then that would be 14 days sick leave.

If your sick/fit note had an end date/period wouldn't that clarify your fit to return date?

Yes u need a sick note for the 2nd week. When did that say u were able to return to work?
