I was ready to go on strike before the last pay deal and voted against that deal. Since then I’ve took RM to tribunal in Sep 19 and have been told to drop my case because the union have got what they want out of my action. I now have to represent myself and this union expect me to back them in a strike action? I do not think so CWU. I have not been represented by you for over 2 years now despite still being paid up so I have to say I would leave the job before going out on strike for you. You represent yourselves not the Royal Mail workers
For the benefit of al of us CWU members why are they refusing to represent you at the ET?
Average pay on holiday I suspect.
Members were given the choice to accept the RM/CWU deal and drop their cases or continue their ET without union support.
A pretty nasty move in my humble opinion.

Yes it is the average pay on holiday claim. RM were settling these up to a couple of weeks before my claim so I suspect I’ve got one of the bigger claims left

They threw some numbers at Terry and he got all confused. I’m only half kidding.

When some people complained that they'd missed a six month payment by being a few minutes short in one period, Terry's response was along the lines of "eight hours pay isn't much anyway". Which showed that he clearly didn't have a clue how it worked.

The 'deal' was voted in by a 'branch vote' - individual members 'should' have been consulted by their branch rep and then the branch 'should'
have voted accordingly. It appears lots of members knew nothing about it. I was consulted as I had an ET claim in.
After the 'deal' was accepted I then had a choice to accept the deal on a personal basis on my claim.

It will be a ballot and another long drawn out process ,don't expect to hear much till at least October and the xmas period when we will have them by the bollocks and then the union will capitulate with more brown envelopes than the inland revenue.

Really think we should just get on with strikes asap rather than wait till christmas. The union need to get on with getting the real facts out to the public as they all will only see any % pay rise being turned down and labelling us greedy selfish workers for not accepting.

I’ve been extremely pro-union for all of my working life but I feel the CWU really need to play this one right or else they/we are finished.

They need to earn there huge salaries, get off their arses & send the message out there to the general public about how RM
are intending to screw us over as rest assured,it’s only a matter of time before RM start telling everyone how underworked & overpaid we are (again)…
“Shorts,in this weather?!”

“If they’re bills I don’t want ‘em!”

“What’s she been ordering now?”

I'm not sure if it would be legal, but if they (CWU) just came out and stated nationally there's been an issue nationally with mail being purposely left every day, blaming RM for late bday items, hospital letters, etc. If on the national news it would certainly cause a ruckuss.

I would imagine that RM's response for the press would be that they are trying to make changes to working practices to make RM more efficient and address those issues, but they are being blocked by the union with threats of strike action.
