Re: Repick advice
I'd personally gamble and not pick anything. Your chances then increase of knowing the good rounds. All offices vary, for example the worst routes in my office result in the new people doing them and lasting a max of a year. You'll not get the best answer from the forum sadly, you just have to use your initiative on this one.

Don't you need to addnobLe97 wrote: ↑22 Apr 2022, 20:19I have only been a postie since Nov and still a reserve. However I have some opinions from both Duty Holders and those that have a Float (which is what you are referring to). Having a float means you do the same 5 walks every week, covering duty holders day off. The best thing about this I’m told is that like you said you aren’t tied down to a bad duty. Here are some pro’s and con’s of each imo:
Duty Holder:
Know duty inside out.
No anxiety about being moved/messed around.
Same van everyday.
Get to know the residents.
Could do it blindfolded.
Could be a bad duty and get sick of the same grind.
Boring after awhile.
Float:
Know multiple duties
Work with a variety of people.
Know there will be some days when you are on a easier duty.
Potentially messed around when people work their day off.
Float:
Potentially come in regularly to double post if the duty holders are ever on a holiday/sick, which seems to becoming a more regular occurrence in our DO

looks like you call floats what we call covers, covers can still demand to do their own duty, if another guy demands to work their day off on it which is not theirs that given day, tell them to feck off, if a manager quotes "operational needs" then act the tw@t, go slow and make sure you're back to time siting "no training given" then put in a grievance about not being on your own duty, it's the plonker who is so set in their ways that they dare not do anything else in the area that will be the problem
