Re: RMCtv : Sickness still a problem : Chief Operating Officer
Whats the solution Simon? Come to work and do a physical job whilst not fit to? Come to work whilst contagious and spread it amongst colleagues?

Massive deliverys post revision and covid which believe it or not hasn't gone away coupling with absolutely shocking working conditions compared to pre revisions where morale was quite good, now it's rock bottom.
A joke of a place to work now, loads of people have gone good people which says it all.

These days you have to be a cross between a bodybuilder and Mo Farah, you have an ageing workforce that you are trying to put into an early grave. People were disgusted by these revisions but now we have just given up, I personally used to love going into work, now I dread it.

And there is a deafening silence from the union about yet another attack on the workforce.
Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.

Weird, I just know everything that is on here, where's mastermind?
Sorry guys it's true but it was yonks ago...
my dad was a postie back in the fifties and sixties, the union used to keep
a check on your sick leave and tell you when you were due your next
spell of leave he says they used to be called whitly days, and every postie
took their due turn of sick leave

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Is anyone else finding themselves getting more and more angry when Simon makes these sort of snide comments? Obviously a small minority will always play the system but the way Simon talks its as if the majority who go sick are lying about it.
Alongside that he doesnt give any mention to the fact that those of us on delivery are continuing to walk more steps as the years go by, and the job is harder then its ever been and only looks like getting worse. Surely it’s obvious to anyone that the physicality of what we do will result in high sickness levels compared to other industries?
I really think that someone needs to explain to Simon that the way he’s talking to us is really not going to help anyone, and will only lead to increasing stress levels and disillusionment.

Excellent post.number one wrote: ↑30 Mar 2022, 16:41Asking an ageing workforce to do more and more work with no extra reward.
Making people walk further
Making people deliver more
Tracking people’s movements
Giving people additional daily tasks
Questioning their work rate
Refusing them annual leave
Making them work from old tatty vans
Making them take 2/3 days mail out because the walk hasn’t been covered for a few days
Forcing revisions in even after staff have raised concerns
Hummm... I wonder why sickness is high?![]()

Simon should get a job at P&O when that CEO position becomes available. Seems to be a parallel with the contempt in which they view their workforce.

I’m on there and I’ve never seen him properly challenged. It’s a happy clappy world where everything in Royal Mail is running smoothly. The fact that it’s not an anonymous platform obviously plays a huge part. Only someone who wanted to lose their job would share their true feelings so openly on there. Certainly know my feelings towards him would not go down well.
