Union backing Management up on this is disgraceful, 2 cheeks of the same backside.

You can guarantee the reason will be because there isn't the slots to accommodate but that's not anyone's problem but the screws'.
It might be better if you ask about the possibility of being paid for the bank holidays, that tends to piss them off.
Don't argue with the crooked c*** just bang in a grievance and stop this being pulled on anyone else.

Just beware, if you tend to do overtime regularly, don't fall foul of the 8hr trap. Might be nice to have a good long spell off but if you want/qualify for holiday pay don't screw it up over missing out on one month.

Again, along with pay, the union put preserving the USO at the forefront of the Pathway to Change agreement, and it was accepted with a majority by the membership (with most probably only paying particular attention to the pay increase and back pay tut tut) so regarding having Saturday off, the union are now in a weak position to fight to have the day authorised as a non service day if the employer wants otherwise as they will only throw the USO clause and competition back in the union's face. So it is no good slagging off the CWU, this deal was voted in and unless either side renege on it, the deal has to stand. As I have said before, any deal is give and take, the employer has given in the form of a pay rise and back pay, but in return they want certain things back - revisions/SISO/etc etc.
I voted against the deal as I read it in its entirety and didn't like many parts of it, and left shortly afterwards last year after 25 years as I didn't like the direction things were going in.

One day being declared a holiday would totally destroy the flawless service the company has been delivering for the last two years. Also, we're so very lazy and have been providing a terrible service for the last two years, so we don't deserve a break. Prepare to hear both as the day approaches.priority102 wrote: ↑23 Mar 2022, 09:03the union are now in a weak position to fight to have the day authorised as a non service day if the employer wants otherwise as they will only throw the USO clause and competition back in the union's face.
