A WAREHOUSE worker who stole a laptop from his employer has been told to pay up nearly £1,000 by a court.

Patrick Soltysiak pinched the Lenovo computer from DHL’s depot in Runcorn in October last year.

Appearing before Warrington Magistrates Court on Friday, March 4, the 31-year-old - of Gerrard Avenue in Warrington - admitted theft by employee.

He was fined £400 and ordered to pay £407.82 in compensation as well as court costs of £85 and a £40 victim surcharge.

His hearing came only days after a delivery driver appeared before the same court having stolen a television from the Manor Park site.

Arpad Mezei, also of Warrington, pleaded guilty to the same charge, with the 26-year-old being told to carry out 100 hours of community service.
