I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I really like the fairy story on the last 2 pages, what a load of bullocks I'll not be taking other peoples work because I've no time and I don't want to be out for extra hours (it's bad enough as it is).

I think I'll be a saboteur :nana :nana

shaking my head with disbelief , I'll have to read it again thought all this American style management went out 15 or so years ago , there is a insidious brain washing element and I ' ve seen relentless brainwashing in a vaguely similar Industry , only we couldn't have any of those attitudes or we'd a problem .Apparently there was no place for people who weren't committed , some of those stupid b***ers certainly should have been !!

RM has been unbelievably regimented for a while so I'm not that surprised . ASDA is as well -quell surprise ! This is the "We need a culture change and how RM will get it -apparently ???WTF

They keep using these PR firms to do these Powerpoints and they all seem to read the same , all this patronizing b***ocks about Arthur or Fred or someone's daughter whose got ballet lessons etc . It's like there's this magic wand that can be waved and we'll all have this corporate utopia .

It's all this half baked pop-psychology that makes me laugh , one minute these failed lazy ex posties in suits are Dr Kildare and know more than the consultants with absence , now RM are turning them into Sigmund Freud , and sorting our wrong attitudes out

That" motivational" stuff is straight out of "The Office " very mid 90's , this is going to the local TUC , they'd appreciate a good laugh !, there is managers that take everything very literally which is limited , and believe all this rubbish , unfortunately

-in charge or ?

Have leighton and Crozier got a copy?

Post by andy2007 »

I hope Leighton and Crozier get to read this. With a bit of luck, they will decide that the RESIGNATION approach to change is for them. Then we can start to repair the damage they have done to the Service!

They probably think that it is still possible for you to take your break during your deliveries, without it taking any longer to get round. Don't forget: they are living in a fantasy world where time is elastic.

Wow that is so scary - reading between the lines it says to me Management is always right and the CWU are only there to help them enact the decision. No comment on shop floor suggestions or whether he got any (apart from the obvious). I think to be honest the last bit is made up with the Jerry Springer bit thrown in for a bt of "Street" cred.

I think that they probably believe that crap

Post by andy2007 »

I think that they actually are living in a fantasy world where that really is what happens.

They certainly behave like they are always right. I think that the disasterous vote probably made things far worse.

There is a scary controlfreakery element , you get a lot of it in Sales ?

I'd summise they've all been sent on these "Personal Development " Courses and a PR Firm has done RM's version . Unite continually berate RM for it's arrogant we know best approach and only we have the answers . Fozziebear has mentioned Senior Managers / Non -Op's managers being "detached " from the shop floor !.

Found this leaflet , that's their site "DEALING EFFECTIVELY WITH UNACCEPTABLE EMPLOYEE BEHAVIOUR " --"results you need without incurring resentment or damaging relationships " --LMAO http://www.skillpath.co.uk/seminfo.html ... /se/gsaz01

that's the PDF link http://www.skillpath.co.uk/Brochures/UK/UHDW.pdf OK , these types do exist , but a bit of common sense /discretion would be better , rather than Religiously following all the steps in "The Royal Fail Manual "

there's a click on the pdf-to download -The leaflet says " If you supervise one or more of these employees , you need to take action NOW!!!

They list all these people Clock Watcher -Refuses to work weekends or even a minute beyond "quitting time" -even during deadline crunches -Amy Attitude :-Has Negative Attitude that brings everyone down

Apparently if you go on this course you'll have higher morale , increased productivity , your staff will be happier and easier to work with + lower turnover -Yeah Right !

I've spoken to a ex BT worker , they "thoughtfully" sent them all on these courses before making them redundant , and he said these "Trainers " are off another Planet .

Someone's been writing fairy tales. I'm sure they'd like it all to be that easy. Patronising tw*ts!

And as for Arthur........does he take a kicking while he's down?
