All our blue & white kits needed a photo, multiple kits for the same house got a seperate photo for each kit as it was pushed through the letterbox

The runners are upset cos they can no longer “dump knock and run” the parcels. But some of them have already found a loophole by not bothering to knock and using the safe place option instead.

What safe place option? Care to elaborate? I’m not a runner by the way, just curious as it’s my first day with this stuff.

But "safeplace" should only be used if stated on the label or shown on an inflight request - and when you consider it is safe etc

Well I've just been taking pics of any old s**t. My foot, finger, some random bit of path. f**k this, I'm a postie not a photographer.

I'm guessing it'll only even get looked at when someone denies receipt.

I've also been using Safeplace if the PDA allows me to ever since it was introduced, with no comeback.

Also had my PDA crash so wrote the number down to enter manually later.

Just took a random picture of a hedge to put that through.

What happens if you form left a customer for a parcel that requires a photo and half hour later they come find you in the next road. Surely you don't have to go back to their house and take a photo?
You could always go to "Indoor" and select "Customer Collected" or just select "camera fault"!!

I had to tell two customers that l couldn't just leave the parcel on their doorstep and they'd have to come down from their bedroom in order to open their front door which, not surprisingly, didn't go down to well.

I really don't know what taking photos half in, half out of a front door really achieves, as surely there's still no more guarantee I'd actually posted it than the GPS stats just confirming I was stood outside their house?

Trying to work out the whole point of it.

If someone denies receipt do RM send someone round to see what colour the carpet/doormat is? Serious question as it proves nothing. Who is to say it wasn't pulled back out of the letterbox?

All this to compete with other companies who dump a packet on the doorstep and take a photo, often without even knocking, and then walk off.

Also if you have a new build estate where every door/ house looks identical it proves nothing...

Much more bending down with heavy bag slung over my shoulder does wonders for the back. Low level letter boxes are bad enough.
PDA needs to have option that customer has requested from inside” leave on doorstep”
