Callers Offices

Post by Stormproof »

I was reading the letters in the Courier and some guy was saying he has just taken over the Callers Office and now has all the equipment he needs, apart from decent pens  anyway I was wondering what equipment he is on about, we have nothing in ours apart from shelving/coffins/calculator etc, we used to have a computer to input packet details on but that went a couple of years ago. Anyone got any high-tec equipment in there offices? Also do any of the guys who run your Callers Offices have any assistance from any other staff when they get busy or even a dedicated part-time duty to help out? I'd like to find out so I can put a plea in for help before they finalise the cut-backs. They are also looking to closing our Callers Office for a hour or 2 during the day  which ain't gonna work, did mention to them, why don't we just open at 8am instead of 7am but that appears to have fallen on deaf ears.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

You have of course spotted the flaw - no mail should be collected before the primary sorting is complete, otherwise 1st class mail has failed. It's common enough though, but the practice of collecting mail should have been nailed when the later start times began. Business replies probably aren't ready much before 8.45 because in their infinite wisdom they decided the BR guy should only start at 0645 - which IMO is 45 mins adrift. Oddly enough he will revert back to a 5.30 start on Saturday even though none of the BR mail goes - the mind truly boggles.

I think it can truly be said that any relationship between our service and customer requirements is purely coincidental.

No high-tec equipment or fancy stuff at our c.o. but it is being enlarged as i type :Very Happy Managers cover the lads when its there break and also help out when its busy,we also have a rehab helping out as well and on a Saturday i think theres 1x4 S/A slot and again the guvnors help out if it gets mad.You know the old saying Dont Ask Dont Get.

They did increase the size of our CO just before xmas, though we were given no more shelving  very rarely see a manager johnny as it seems too far for them to walk as the DO is on the other side of the MC. Ask constantly for help to no avail :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh
