In these things it's the same old prob. Everybody waiting for someone higher up the chain to make a decision. The higher up person doesn't get out of bed til 9 and checks his emails at 9.30. So from 6-9.30 managers make themselves look stupid by saying stupid stuff like you'll have to make back the time if you go home. In our office we were literally saying to them go back and check your emails coz we know you are going to send us home any way in a minute. The storm will hit at 10 your duty care needs to get us out of here before then. No no no they said we've been told by our boss that's not the policy. With all due respect I said your boss isn't going to make the decision it will be someone much higher up doing that. 9:30 just to let you know we have to send you all home.....couldn't make it up.
