I’m not actually just never experienced it down here before, the idea I had was to take out parcels only and any Mail those addresses have then roll the Mail over to tomorrow

About 14 years ago there were high winds across the country, lorries were being blown over all over the place, M6, M1, A1 and many others closed. CPC solution of how to get to NWRDC from NDC was to give driver a map showing a route using Snake Pass across the Peak District, after all - it wouldn’t be windy there !
When drivers from other hubs eventually got to NW all their drivers had been stood down due to the dangerous weather conditions, yet managers from other depots thought it perfectly acceptable to send out double deck trailers when it was clear that it was putting lives at risk.

Met office: "Stay indoors. Avoid travel. Flying debris will pose a risk to life"

DOM: "Just stick a poster up telling them to be careful, that should cover our backs"

Will the Mail Centres even dispatch the lorries?

I wouldn't want to be driving a high sided vehicle tomorrow.

secure the office, when everybody is out on delivery, close the roller shutters and put fan heater on. that way when they all come back they will stand in the rain a bit longer with with docket left items, nine wet smelly pouches and a soggy tray of scrappy doos trying to get key code firedoor to open, "at the end of a lovely day" :dance

I genuinely dont think they could say or do anything if you made a personal decision to not go out on delivery due to the extreme weather.

Put a sail on the roof of your van and save diesel, Super Si will be loving the fuel savings to be made.
