Royal mail should just have a monthly magazine!....sell advertisement space, delivered to every house in the UK!. Have news items! Highlight royal mail services and products! Etc...even have the TV listings.... Almost the courier magazine for the general public! This company is so stupid and backward it thinks delivering a single leaflet is the way to go...
This is a golden opportunity for RM to score brownie points with the public and increase it`s green credentials. Absolutely no-one wants D2Ds, and it`s a criminal waste of resources.

But one of the big reasons RM is attractive for D2D customers is postcode-specific, time-specific targetted advertising.cheesetoastie wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 16:03Forget this whole d2d idea! This "newsletter" might work, but we'd still have D2Ds.

Needs a name, though. May I suggest 'Courier'POSTMAN wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 18:20I thought about this a few years ago, get kids involved writing letters etc, celebs (proper ones though) with stories, cookery things, England captain etc etc the list could be endless and something for everyone.Tinoblade wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 17:51Jesus..... it pains me how obvious that is and I didn't even consider itcheesetoastie wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 16:03Forget this whole d2d idea! Delivery would, subject of the scamps at Ofcom be free who knows how big it could get.
I was going to do a big write up to Royal Mail, but they pissed me off so I thought feck it.
Not saying cause I didn't it didn't happen lol but perhaps they have thought of something similar and feel it's not warranted.
The machine stops.

"The recent table top revisions activity should have built in prep time for these and recent studies and trials have proven that if we can do this and talk to our posties about the standard operating procedures"
No one seems to know what the procedure is for d2d's anymore, I wouldn't trust anything the DOM say's either without it being written down as proof.

Carrying two bundles would be great fun with the weather forecast for the next few days

D2Ds are focussed and specific to the area - it’s demographics and the service providers- in a way a national magazine never could be. They’ll be replaced eventually but by digital not a different form of analog.cheesetoastie wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 16:03Forget this whole d2d idea! It really is so stupid!... Use your head!!!DiamondSmiles wrote: ↑16 Feb 2022, 17:31I want to know how or what you use to knock a door holding two bundles![]()
(note to Super Si and Terry Bullshitter, this is a joke and not a serious suggestion - it will be pretty difficult to balance with a bundle in each hand and a broom up my arse sweeping the street as it is).

Our wave 1 usually comes with 3+ yorks of manual. Combined with wave 2, and parcel sorting taking priority, we don't always clear. A lot of the manual could be in our sequenced.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 19:48Genrally wave 2 is always walk sort only. Your screws should know the procedure, pre revision and post revision, as should your rep.sorefeet17 wrote: ↑16 Feb 2022, 17:00"The recent table top revisions activity should have built in prep time for these and recent studies and trials have proven that if we can do this and talk to our posties about the standard operating procedures"

Stating the obvious obviously.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

The only way I find out anything official is from these boards, and even if I know the official way from here, actually getting it implemented in my DO is another story

Not always targeted though. D2Ds advertising conservatory conversions to blocks of flats...ArtG wrote: ↑16 Feb 2022, 17:36D2Ds are focussed and specific to the area - it’s demographics and the service providers- in a way a national magazine never could be.
