The one thing we have been hearing though and one thing we focusing on is in a kind of extreme weather.
Extreme!? Anyone been experiencing tornado outbreaks or category 5 hurricanes on delivery? Two thirds of the year it rains.
The machine stops.

Anything more than light drizzle messes my pda up, not sure what is "extreme" about that.

Extreme weather must be anything beginning with drizzle

Deployment ' A doo ron ron ron da doo ron ron' Manager

We are leading on an accelerated roll out of the new version of the Route Optimisation + Navigation (RO+N) app.

The RO+N app has been on PDAs since 2018, and I’m pleased to share that this update includes a number of enhancements that improve the user experience for operators.

Improved Functionality
Manifest now saved to Cloud and downloaded to PDA by any User(s)
Speedier input of non 2D barcodes
RFD & Manifest scans combined
Customer notifications now linked to parcel deliveries
Redirections/Keepsafe are identified via RFD/Manifest scan
2021 Maps released as part of TC57 PDA refresh
Route Manager Geo-locations used
Swipe DP to switch to Outdoor App, doorstep scan is captured by Confirm Delivery button
Very precise delivery point location as it links to Route Manager
DOM Qlikview Dashboard deployed

There will be a further upgrade going live in April 22. The future upgrade includes features such as display of Delivery Point Hazards on PDA and allow delivery stops to be attended out of sequence.

Two small positives today on the PDA front - you no longer have to swipe up to enter the PDA, just the top button works. And the photo option now has a big red blob next to it and the text is highlighted in yellow so it’s harder to miss it.

Anyone else notice these? Or is it just being trialled in certain offices.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Had 3 parcels today that stated on the label they needed pictures, but when scanned with the PDA the screen didn't appear, just the standard delivery screen

PDA Deployment
The latest PDA deployment is ending and there are still 7.5k devices which have not upgraded to the new software. Please tap the information icon on your PDA logon screen and if your Version Frontline is less than 5.3 please clear all scan data and cradle your PDA whilst switched on. It will then automatically re-boot and upgrade to the latest software version. If this doesn’t happen, please contact the IT helpdesk to request a swap out.

I had one of the updated PDA's, but I had issues with it.

Now, I am happy to consider it may have been a dodgy PDA and not representative, but scanning items into RON and optimising, the order chosen was not exactly one of most efficient.

Then for unknown reasons, after confirming route and on my way, the route would jump and place my position in the middle of nowhere or place me way to the left of the road I was travelling

Rebooting did help for a while, but it did it again approximately 1 hour later.

Scanning some parcels with note photo required on the label: nothing, just normal tracking scan and delivery. The some with no indication a photo was required and The P and yellow highlighting of tracking number appeared. Then Adidas parcels with signature label, and no signature asked for.

It was an interesting day at the doorstep

Anything that makes it easier to use is good. Can we get them to work on the swipe to unlock now please. The other day in heavy rain I had to swipe around 10 times (I kid you not) at one point, trying to get the damn thing to unlock. That would help a LOT more.
Not sure if someone has been playing with the one I've been using this week, but it opened using just the top button with no need to swipe? Anyone else?

Yep, that was included in the latest app update. Took a while to get used to it yesterday.
They've also changed the notification when a photo is required. It now beeps and shows a yellow band.
