Rob:
Hello everyone, and welcome to this special r m extra. it comes after we issued a joint statements alongside the c w u, covering the lessons that we've learned together during the twenty twenty one structural revisions. i'm joined here today by Mark Bulch from the c w u, and we're going to be discussing some of the key elements of our report.
Mark, thank you for joining me here today. i really appreciate you giving up your time. what about you. what were the highlights from your point of view.
Mark:
you know when I spoke to some of the our members on delivery. they said the um, they'd felt that the revision had been done to them and not really with them and with their involvement. so i think that's one of the key elements.
i think the other factor, which has really been incredibly difficult for people, and we have learned, um, we're gonna improve in the future is the frames and the walk sequenceing in the frame configuration and the frame layout and the problems that has caused
. so that they are they are really the the there's others. but they're the real sort of main points that you know you pick up as you talk to people, plus the feedback that's come in.
Rob:
another key piece of our learning, i think, is our pre-deployment checks very important that we do all that we can to make sure that our units are in good health.
state of health and their resourceing is robust before we actually deploy a change. a really key. i think that we really make sure that we get that aspect right as well.
Mark:
i think what's key is the training and support before you deploy.
the other element that has been really highlighted in the revisions, and those that have not worked so well is the level of vacancies in units and the need to recruit, and then you know, when you've got vacancies, you've got peak levels of traffic. obviously, you're deploying a revision against that landscape, so we've learnt that lesson, and there will be.
a pre-deployment health check and sort of flag system before we get to that point,
Rob:
yeah, i totally agree or people out there in the operation will see some real improvements as we move forward. i think together uh in the in the year ahead,
Mark: yeah. absolutely, i think the other, the other thing that um we do still need to feature is around fixing those units still um where we've got issues, and we must do that absolutely um before we move on to new revision deployment, we must absolutely, you know, complete the p PIR activity, make sure that we've corrected any issues that are still out there and fix the problems. so you know the people in those units can come into a fair and manageable workload every day, complete their deliveries and clear the office
Rob:again, totally agree Mark and rest assured for everybody watching, you know this, r m t.v.we're still on with the PIR's There is a huge focus to make sure that they are concluded. and whatever we need to address, we will clearly address.
couldn't agreeable more.
we'll continue to work with our unions and our teams to follow through with the lessons we've learned going forward, and remember, you can always share your views on work place. thank you for watching.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

OPG
the sad part I raised the frame sequence issues with GeoRoute and Route Manager in Sep 2019. I was told by the FMO team to wind my neck in and not send emails with issues that did not exist. But here we are 2 years later.
Simon 'I was busy then...I think' Thompson
looks like you probably had a point - if so, I agree disappointing - but we are where we are - we cannot change history - only learn from it - let’s now move on….

"we cannot change history"
No, but you should learn from it. The continued mantra to "move on" shows no sign of learning anything, and certainly not from the people who do the job.
Anyone who still believes this clown remotely knows what he is doing is more deluded than he is. His beloved markets have seen though him, the public have seen through him, the frontline workforce have seen through him. Pity that the CWU haven't.

Try "learning lessons" before a revision.
CWU's refusal to accept responsibility for this mess is embarrassing

The revision just summed up royal mail now. To myself and others this was all messed up intentionally , it was all embarrasing , with no intention of listening to the people who matter ,,, us . No point in saying were sorry Team , many of us have been shafted big time , for no reason at all . Thanks .

While I entirely agree that it's no practical help, nobody so far as I'm aware has actually apologised for this shambles. Planners say they weren't allowed to do the work as 'they normally would' and/or they were switched to another office before they could finish, and senior managers just don't seem to grasp that they themselves might be somehow accountable for forcing in revisions that clearly weren't fit for purpose.

Any problems with the walk sequencing will be down to DOs not updating Route Planner with the new/updated walks. When the sequencing and batch sorting plans are written, it's done based on the data in Route Planner so if that data is wrong then the order of the DPs for the sequencing and what DPs are on what walks will be wrong. It takes some DOs a while to update normally, without all these revisions. You can tell when you know there's a new build block of flats or houses and you get all the mail for them go straight to the rejects on a CSS

They are talking s**t and the CWU are going along.
It was a sham as per the results and all those involved should be sacked.
Royal Mail have got away with murder as has the CWU.
Look at the pathetic late response from Terry about the mobilising bollox.
And as for Super Simon and his cronies on Workplace, what the hell!
Joke.
