This isn’t just going to have an impact on the managers, anyone who has a friendly relationship with management and gets deals and cushy duty’s from them should be very worried, same goes for the ones who ridiculously drag jobs out for extended overtime as well. Times are about to really change and they will be coming for us next.
Can't see a problem with that can you?
Always makes me laugh when you get a New Manager and people start creeping around them, trying to rack up some Brownie points, you hear them on the next frame, "Well you do realise mine IS the biggest duty in the office and it really needs some work taking off it .... no one else can get it delivered in time ..... the old manager used to let me start early because it is SO big etc etc"
Getting to the stage now (with all the Covid Tricks & Dodges) where some colleagues piss me off more than the management!
Like all Wage Slaves, he had two crosses to bear: The people he worked for and the people he worked with! (Stephen Vizinczey.)

No I can’t see a problem in regards to the points I mentioned but it’s the micro management that is about to come that I fear, we all know that a lot of them are not going to be up to the task. It’s the managing their budgets/resources that I fear the most, that s**t is just going to be passed down the line to us when they mess up.
Totally agree with your 2nd point, Covid has really shown a lot of people up for what they really are.
Wont make a bit of difference to us i have no idea what some of them do some have PAs ffs i bet if nothing was said we would not notice.
This is just the start, it will be posties hit next. All depends on the USO as soon as it is changed(and they will get that change) it opens up a whole new playing field.
Mail every second day with designated parcel duties. could save a third of an office by having 1 postie covering 2 duties .
Capitalism is coming slowly but surely.

I wonder if that would mean the end of walk sort or sequencing. Someone might prep multiple duties on the days them duties aren't scheduled to go out
Seems this place is crawling with managers and managers snitches.
Keep safe guys an gals.
"A reminder to you all regarding social media.
Following the announcement that around 700 managerial positions were going, social media became lively with derogatory comments on a site called Royal Mail Chat.
Managers, particularly in delivery land have now raised this as a formal complaint, and as a result, Simon Thompson has asked for data gathering to identify all who may be responsible.
They will be spoken to using the Conduct Code process.
What ever your thoughts and opinions , please think before putting it in writing on any social media platform.
Recently, there was a picture taken of a Royal Mail van on fire at **** ***** Delivery office, which again, did the rounds on social media.
The person who took the photo has been identified, and is now being investigated inline with the conduct code process.
If any of you know of anyone who uses social media, when it comes to Royal Mail, remind them to think before they type."
This group takes great steps to stay onside of the social media policy (which is attached), in order to protect everyone’s jobs. We have approval on for posts, for membership requests, we don’t allow photos taken at work and up until recently we were a ‘secret group’. Some think we are draconian, but we simply point to the repeated examples on the “Royal Mail chat” group of people getting caught out. So same as before, think before you type. If you know you couldn’t get away with saying it in front of a gaffer, don’t say it in here. Hugs and kisses, the admins Xx.
I heard that all managers across the company have to reapply for their jobs. I don’t know if that included in the 700 jobs. If not there’s going to be a lot of former posties back on walks.
I personally know someone who started off as a Postie .... became a DOM ..... got sacked and busted back to Postie. He then reapplied and became a DOM again! I'd laugh my cock off if he's one of the 700 to get the sack ... AGAIN!
If its the same person I am thinking of, he became a mail centre shift manager so safe this time round.
Seems this place is crawling with managers and managers snitches.

Well that will explain why plenty of posts I had read earlier today on Workplace have been removed.
Seems on Workplace, certain points raised out of frustration questioning actions taken, or posting incidences such as the van fire which raises a safety issue (and would be picked up by the local press anyway), are no longer to be tolerated.
Perhaps, senior management should look to themselves as to the root cause of why such posts criticising or raising issues are made to begin with. Admittedly there were some idiot remarks, but the majority were points well made and deserved a response.
Do senior management just wish for a team that may only reach out on subjects that make Simon happy on Workplace?
Everything will be OK in the end, If it's not OK, then its not the end.

This is why I can’t believe some people post things here that go against the social media policy thinking they can hide behind their username and then a few posts later post their average holiday hours to the exact minute, it’s so easy for higher up to run a database check and find out who they are.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.
Bullshit!
I will go through this thread this weekend and various other threads-I don't think it's us.
There is possibly worse on Workplace and deffo worse on Facebook.
I will look see.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
Just looked through this thread and a couple of news items and it's not us.
Any idea what branch posted it?
Facebook group We have had another Facebook standards violation flagged up to us, this time for ‘inciting violence’. We don’t get to see the details of the post, and Facebook removes it straight away. If we keep getting them then Facebook might decide to take action against the group and take us down.

IF RM stopped walk sequencing the mail, AND decided to continue culling the Frontline Posties they would be definitley shooting themselves in the foot. The advantage of Mech is that it does make it easier for people unfamiliar with a duty to prep several duties throwing off the Mech on each. If you stop sequencing it you're just adding time (and time equals money) to the prep, that's a false economy.
For those that have been here a while you can remember the ammount of time it used to take for IPS, when everything just arrived unsorted, and then you had to throw it all off (Just like the IPS nowadays). We used to reckon on it taking us about three hours to prep a duty for delivery, nowadays we're closer to two. That's a lot of savings for even the most tight arsed of accountants.
Like all Wage Slaves, he had two crosses to bear: The people he worked for and the people he worked with! (Stephen Vizinczey.)
Just pointing out so we can get back proper to the 700 screws going to McDonalds thread-It's not us it's......shock.......horror........Facebook.
Big Simon confirmed it on Workplace-who'd thought it.
Hang tight though, I will be doing another thinned skinned thread later on. Where this site once again 'wrongly' gets the blame.
