On another note this action show what a company royal mail become recently. Pay key shareholder millions where delivery offices are massively understaffed and struggle with ever increasing workloads. There are delivery managers. We all know that most of them should be in management and some of them are just vile but royal mail senior managements have been steadily reducing resources.

I think it is a bad sign for all of us. The direction where the company is heading is seriously worrying.

I’ll be quite happy to be a scab but we all know that lot haven’t got the backbone to strike because it will show RM to be right to get shot of them. Are they going to be replaced like the last lot on a smaller pay grade? We had 2 get VR last time only to be replaced within the week with another 2
I heard that the last comment on todays conference call was reminding them to fill in the ‘Trust’ survey :chuckle
It’s the likes of Just Eat and Deliveroo I feel sorry for, they are going to lose a fortune not delivering to the lineos when we’re out.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

The two managers were jumping for joy after their conference call this morning, praying for VR.

In a lot of industries these days what we know as "Line Managers" would be "Team Leaders" who'd do the same work as those under them, the only difference between them and normal workers would be some sort of leadership allowance

All the managers were moping about with the obligatory "smacked arse" face on this morning, and being rather more confrontational than usual. Several people got yelled at that they'd be called in to meetings, union rep had to step in and point out managers were being unreasonable, one manager was stressing that it was "too quiet" (aka. "can be finished within 10 minutes of your end time rather than an hour after").

That is a really good shout that. Could be highly probable. Teams leaders /postie.

If you're gonna start to feel sorry for them, just remember part of my signature...

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low life ***** they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

So , for example. a current PHG would be a team leader ?
Managed by a remote " Manager" who would oversee more than one delivery office?

Rather like a "Cell Manager" in many retail companies and no doubt other industries. Possibly with the option of " balancing resource between offices" ?

Works in retail. Better planning would be required.

2021 was year of the DOM
2022 is death of the DOM

So this explains why our DOM has gone into panic mode making changes for change sake in a pathetic attempt to make it look like they’re doing something to sort out the mess. “Lapse more!” wasn’t the solution.

700 managers to go and if there are 1,300 DOs

Then its only less than one manager per unit. Its only like us expecting to cope with a postie short when they have scheduled lapsing

They might have to get rid of the coffee machine

Where's this team leader rumour coming from? The announcement just suggests that the roles of DOM and DLM will go and be replaced by a new level of manager, I can't see any reference to Team Leaders, surely any "teams" will still be manged by managers given that only one manager per DO is going to leave, assuming all 700 do eventually leave?

Plenty of the posties at our place think they are managers - get rid of those pr1cks first and it would be a better place to work.

Here Here FB :Applause

Or perhaps they'll offer them the job ... seeing as how they're already know it all / :cuppa

Still obsessed with cost-cutting. While paying shareholders £400M dividend. There are way too many managers in RM anyway so at least that’s a positive.
